"Wonderful. Our driveway needed to be torn up, regraded and paved. The entire crew was very professional. The job was completed when promised. They did a better job than I expected, making sure we were satisfied, explaining exactly what they were going to do ever step of the way. They cleaned up after the job was completed, making sure everything looked better than they found it. I would highly recommend EB Asphalt."

"Disappointed with service, but looks ok.  Completed job in time noted.  When I spoke to gentleman for a quote, John, stated they would evaluate base material then determine if gravel would be needed.  Apparently it didn't in their opinion.  However, what I saw was a lot of sand and round stones as an old base that to me should have been removed/replaced.  It tracked in my garage and house for about four weeks.  Two neighbors using different contractors right now have had old asphalt removed and gravel bases put down. <br>  I think it was a very poor choice to not lay gravel down and probably an expense I paid for, but didn't receive.  Also, I found that a shrub next to the driveway was burnt, don't know if it will survive.   <br>  This contractor also removed a pay loader bucket of lawn on the left side of the driveway for water drainage purposes and left it just a dirt spot.  I had to call John and inquire about it.  He said they don't do landscaping, but would deliver some topsoil and seed.  I got the topsoil.  "

"Dean was prompt in coming out to give me a price; he even stopped on his way to his vacation. He called the day before the work was scheduled to confirm the work would be done the next day, as planned. His workers arrived on time and were very pleasant during the time they were doing the work. The driveway looks great. <br />"

"Glen and his team were fantastic! They completed a thorough compacting of the driveway in two days have a very long driveway approximately 450 ft. They committed to starting on the 14th but said they would come as quick as they could I was trying to surprise my husband as he was out of the country for business, they started on the 11th. My job is supply chain. The good and bad of that is I always complete market research prior to getting any work done; I can't stand to pay too much for anything. By too much, I don't mean more than it cost , but more than it is worth. I respect business and understand and appreciate profit margins but despise people trying to take advantage of current market forces just because they think they can. That being said, I had already found the cost of asphalt per ton, other pertinent material, the cost of labor and the approximate annual amortization for the equipment needed for the job leaving room for the profit margin in the quote. I had 4 companies come out and the quotes were ridiculous except for Glen's. His was spot on and the work was professional and perfection! He explained the process and was very patient with my questions. Glenn is very down to earth and doesn't make the business feel like it is all business. I will post pictures soon but wanted to get this written as I think so highly of this company! Highly recommend! <br />"

"I could not be happier with my choice. Shawn was professional, friendly, and knowlegable from first contact. He was not the cheapest nor the most expensive estimate I received to complete the work. His quote included more than the cheaper and more expensive estimates I had received. Once hired he began immediately and removed the trees from the house in the first day. It took a little time to complete the job but his concern was the ruin of a lawn in pristine condition. He waited for the ground to dry before starting the portion of the work that required heavy equipment. The lot is also on a very steep downward angle . I feel that he completed the job in a timely manner considering that the weather continued to work against him. Upon finishing he left the property in excellent condition. He removed the 7 foot diameter root ball as well so one would never know the wreck it all had been . The only tell tale sign is where he graded, seeded, and fertilized the portion on the yard where the trees had fallen and gouged the ground."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Willimantic, CT

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
