"We recently had our bathtub removed and replaced with a shower from West Shore. From the first visit to installation everything was handled very professionally. They kept us updated on everything that was going on. On the day of installation Jansen B. And Matt O. Arrived on time. They were courteous, clean and very quiet. They completed the job before dinner time and cleaned and left my bathroom cleaner than when they came. We were super pleased with the product and workmanship. We intend to enjoy it for many more years."

"Not happy at all with follow up. Estimate done in early October. Written Estimate received 10/14 via email. Every phone call had to be initiated by us the customer. Work was not started until 12/21/20. Price was very expensive for demo of the small shower, shower pan and concrete and installation of tiles that I purchased. Shower door will be provided by glass company that I will pay directly. Almost a $10,000 job just for a small shower which includes my $1,300 purchase of tiles and approximate price of $1,200 for the glass shower door. Owner not very good at communicating and was not on the job at all. His workers were pleasant and cleaned up after themselves but job was simple and average. Very pricey for a small job with average outcome. Waiting for return of workers after the holidays to install several pieces of bull nose that were broken and had to be replaced and for grouting to be completed."

"Had the shower conversion over 2 weeks and it was not cheap. Water is on the floor every time I take a shower. I have tried putting the doors in opposite ways and still my floor is wet. Called and still waiting for them to come back?????"

"Brian came to our home to do a tub to shower installation. He was very respectful and reviewed what he would be doing. The project was completed within the time frame we were told. Again, he reviewed what he had done and how to properly care for the shower. It really looks great and we are looking forward to using it. Thank you Brian and rite window team. Respectfully Leslie Greeley Brewster Ma"

"After many years of postponing the updating of our master bathroom, I finally had to confront the reality that my wife was intent on getting the bathroom renovated now. Being a retired aerospace engineering manager and having watched many television programs on the ins and outs of home improvements, I had an initial dilemma; how would I locate a building contractor that I could work with? Using the yellow pages was immediately eliminated. Angie?s List came to my attention while I was watching television and saw it being advertised. I contacted them by telephone and subscribed, figuring that the small cost was a part of the remodeling costs. I wanted a local business so long travel times could not be used as an excuse to delay the job.
Using Angie's List.com for my area I was presented with a list of potential bidders which I reviewed in detail. Three companies were contacted and interviewed for knowledge, experience, creativity, staying within budget and their understanding of what my wife and I wanted in our new bathroom. One contractor said that the entire job could be completed in two weeks, which I knew from experience was completely unreasonable. Another bidder stressed planning and ignored our budgetary requirements.
AW Martin Construction Inc. was the third we interviewed and it was immediately obvious that Tony Martin was my kind of person: technically knowledgeable. Only he, amongst the three bidders, suggested options such as: two new twenty ampere circuits, a ceiling exhaust/heater fan and a new Andersen Window to replace the existing window and storm window. One of our major concerns was keeping the rest of our house clean and not allowing any dust and debris to migrate outside the construction area. It was explained that I would be on site at all times to answer any questions and make any necessary decisions. Tony was fine with this since his attitude was: we always give the customers what they want. A written cost estimate was given to us, which was within our budget. We were to select and pay for the items such as sink, toilet, fixtures, electricals, vanity, medicine cabinet, tile, and shower enclosure. In this way our total final cost would be under our control. Upon signing the contract, Jody, Tony?s office manager supplied us a list of preferred suppliers who had first class products and were customer friendly. My wife and I vigorously worked at making our selections and had all of the items with the exception of the tiles shipped to us and stored in our garage prior to any work starting. We took this approach so we, as the customers, would never be holding up the job because of any missing items.
The only problem we encountered was getting a firm start date. This was due to some problems that Tony?s crew encountered on ongoing jobs which had a domino effect on our start date. Tony wanted get these problems out of the way so our job could proceed with a minimum of interference. Those delays were resolved and before any work began protective plastic over our carpeting and protective cardboard over the entrance foyer?s slate floor was laid in all of the areas that would be worked or walked on.
The toilet was removed, all of the water lines were capped off, and the toilet and sink sewer lines sealed to prevent sewer gases from getting into the house. The entire bathroom was stripped down to the sub-floor and wall studs and all debris was taken away. The reconstruction work proceeded smoothly and in a timely fashion with construction, plumbing work, electrical work, tile work, installations, granite counter & frameless glass shower door templates made and the finished items installed. The individuals working for AW Martin Construction, having done so many bathroom renovations, worked in synchronization. They never got in each other?s way and I was made aware who was coming each day and what they were going to do. This knowledge on my part reassured me that the job was moving along, and if I felt there was a possible problem, I was listened to and respected for my concerns.
The three individuals who stand out were: Chris, who managed the job and did all of the things too numerous to mention to make the project a success; Tony (the tile man) whose artistic skills with tile, spackle and the paint brush were unbelievable and Jody, who always pleasantly answered all questions, pointed us in the right direction, and acted as liaison by contacting vendors and AW Martin personnel.
As a result of our experience on the above described project, it is our intention to have AW Martin Construction renovate our two other bathrooms and we highly recommend them to anyone."
