"I bought a deal from Walls Electrical in May 2014. It was $99 for $200 worth of electrical services. We could not figure out why our powder room lighting would not come on even after replacing bulbs, checking breakers, and resetting GFCIs. A Walls technician came out and figured out that the lights were controlled by a small transformer that was connected into an outlet in the adjoining closet. Somehow we had unplugged the transformer without realizing it. Problem solved. The technician then replaced the lighting fixture that my husband had taken apart while investigating the matter a few days prior. While he was replacing the fixture, I handed the technician a circular metal piece that belonged in the fixture. The technician adamantly said that the metal piece did not belong. I had my doubts, but I deferred to his judgement since he is the professional. Well, a day later, that fixture stopped working and when we investigated, we saw that the bulb had burned out the plastic part of the fixture, because the metal piece had not been replaced.  <br /> I immediately called Walls to let them know what happened. At first, they were very prompt in responding to my complaint. I sent pictures, they said they were working on it. Then weeks passed and nothing happened. I called and was told that the person who was handling my account was having health issues and that someone else would get on it. Weeks passed again and nothing happened. I called and was told that my contact person wasn't with the company anymore and somehow I had fallen through the cracks. They were very apologetic. It wasn't until late Fall that a technician was sent out to rectify the situation. They had to replace all 3 lights in the powder room and the product they brought (the closest match they said they could find) and the way it was installed just didn't have the beautiful flush finish that my previous fixtures had.  <br /> Needless to say, a very simple issue turned into a huge waste of my time and energy. I'm happy they finally rectified the situation, but it took way too long and the end product left a lot to be desired. <br />"

He described for me why the problem was occurring, what they were going to do to fix it and they guys were very professional. "We live in a 100-year old house. It has some bad wiring. Periodically, things come up that make us aware of just how bad the wiring is. In  this case, we were replacing our washer dryer and needed to add a socket to the laundry area, but the whole circuit the laundry area was on was screwed up and to make the socket work we needed a bunch of rewiring done. We knew there was a problem with the circuit because some lights that were on the same circuit also weren't working but we didn't know exactly what was going on. Brian, the electrician, arrived promptly at the scheduled time, made sense of our unclear explanations of the problem, and went to work. It took him several hours but everything works perfectly now, including the light fixture, which was unrelated to the other stuff. He even helped us move the old washer and dryer outside so we are all ready for the new one. We are very satisfied with the work that was performed and would use Hawkins Electric Service again. <br />"

"Wow!  Was completely impressed by Eric - my husband and I love him as do all we have referred to him.  Initially found Eric on Angie's list and liked the fact that he would offer advice as to placement of recessed lighting and fixtures since we had just settled on a new home and found our decorators prices a bit steep.     He was able to guide us on the recessed light placement as well as pendant placement.  Eric had a LOT of wire to fish through the ceiling (we had four cans in the family room, three in the office, four in the basement and five in the kitchen) and had to do a bit of exploring as well to determine exactly where the lights could go; and even though he had to make a lot of cuts in the ceiling, he was extremely neat and my painter even commented that he did a much nicer job than most electricians which made his job of patching a lot easier. <br /> He also knew that I was getting bids for heated tile floors in my basement and made suggestions for which product to use, and ultimately did the installation for it since my installer would have had to hire an electrician for that part, so I saved money by using Eric for that part as well.  He also installed an electrical panel in my old townhouse that we are now renting out.  The townhouse was vacant at the time, but when we would go over there to do some work, had started to notice that the circuit with the furnace on it kept blowing, and there was a slight acrid burning smell which concerned us so we called Eric out to investigate and he removed the panel and saw where it had actually started to melt.  He had a job he needed to finish before he could do the replacement and since we were concerned about not having heat since it was so cold, he was able to do some sort of bypass so that the furnace could function during the interim before he could replace the panel.  <br /> I really can't say enough good things about Eric.  Not only does he do a great job, he is super neat and very personable as well.  I have referred him to my pickiest clients and even they love him. <br />"
