"I shopped around for the best company to address my radon issue at my house and was really impressed with the level of professional customer service from the owner all the way down to the installers of the Radon re-mitigation system. They were well educated on the subject and was very detail to provide the best system setup that needed to be installed. My radon weekly average went from a 9.8 to a 1.4. We definitely recommend them to others."

"On the first day the agent first tested a small inconspicuous spot on the back of my couch to see how it would dry. He then came back after I notified the company that the result was okay and he cleaned the entire couch. I thought that was terrific. He was extremely professional and did a goo9d job. The fee for scotch guarding was much too high. I also felt the charge for my five foot sette was high."

"I waited a month before getting a test kit I called and was told there was something wrong with the Angies list orders but that I would be receiving a kit soon. It wouldve ben nice if they called me to tell me that though. The test results were quick and on par with other radon test I had done locally."

"Angies list indicates that they do water proofing and mold inspection. I called to get more information and left a voice mail. My call was promptly returned and they told me that they only do testing. The description of services needs to be updated."

"I spent the last 2 months researching and getting estimates from just about every waterproofing company known to mankind. Besides price, I was looking for a company that would provide a warranty that could be transferred if I decided to sell my home. When I decide to go with B-dry, Holly, the scheduler, worked with me to get me  on the calendar within days. She even called me back to say she had a cancellation, and gave me the option of having the work done today or Wednesday. Considering the fact that I spent the past 4 months out of 6 months of owning this home dealing with basement flooding, I decided to have the system installed today. Boy am I glad i did! <br /> Chris and the crew arrived around 9 A.M. this morning, and immediately got started digging up the perimeter of my basement floor. They worked until 6 PM, stopping to answer my questions when needed. After they finished, the guys cleaned up behind themselves and left my basement looking better than they found it. The 3 inches of water that was there when they came had been carried out by the newly-installed sump pump; and the damp smell that had taken over my basement these past few months was finally gone. <br /> We are expecting more rain on Thursday, so that will be the real test, but my basement was leaking even though it wasn't raining. So if B-dry managed to solve this issue, I am confident it will handle the rains. Now I have peace of mind knowing that my basement will be as dry as the rest of my house; and if for some reason it isn't, I have the security of knowing B-dry will come back and make it right-for as long as this house is standing. You can't beat that! <br />"

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in Winder, GA

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
