"Vince told me outdoor spigot could be repaired and did not need to be replaced which saved me money. He also replaced a vanity faucet which I provided. He was quick, efficient and honest. The most important thing was he discovered a serious problem with the way my water heater was vented. The exhaust pipe had been cut wrong and glued together. It was ready to come apart and could have vented carbon monoxide into the basement. (We do have CO detectors but this is still scary) We had this water heater installed a couple of years ago by another well known local firm that I don't know if I can name here. It did fail inspection by Howard County 3 times after initial install. Failure was all related to the vent and probably should have never passed. Anyway, by pure luck it was discovered and fixed. I inquired about just replacing my 40 year old boiler which was not working after a dusty mess of a basement demolition (in addition to other questions). They had the opportunity to steer me in that expensive direction, but they instead told me of the challenges the new boilers have, and to periodically have old trusty cleaned and serviced instead. She should be reliable if I do that. Honesty goes a long way with me, as does customer service. This company is a gem. Unfortunately, my house is a hot mess as a result of significant demolition in my basement, so I will be calling again for a different leaky pipe after I leave this review. "The technician arrived promptly at 9 a.m. as scheduled. However, the 50-gallon water heater that I purchased would not fit in the space so the technician had to wait hours for a new one to be brought to my home. He was very courteous and professional. He apologized several times for the delay. A short time after the new water heater arrived, he had everything up and running. "This was not an emergency repair, we were fortunate to be able to schedule the replacement about a week in advance. Heil sent an estimator to look at the space and make a recommendation. We originally wanted a Hybrid system but they advised against it given the space and need to collect/vent moisture. We selected a 75 gallon electric water heater. On the scheduled day, They were on time, removed the old water hearter and installed the new one - professional and courteous the whole time. Unfortunately, the new heater leaked the same day. They returned and made a temporary patch until they could return the next day with a replacement part. They returned, replaced the part and after they left we found that the tank leaked again in another place. They returned the next day and before we could insist that we wanted a different tank (clearly an out of the box failure on this one) they said they would replace the tank which they did. Our first, second and third experiences with Heil were all great with customer service and technical expertise. The inconvenience of multiple extra days without hot water and having to be there for four visits was unexpected and unfortunate however Heil responded correctly and made it right. You can get the measure of a company not only when things go right but also how they respond when things go wrong. We would use them again."
