"I've had my chimney rebuilt twice and the flashing replaced this past Fall following 2013s winter damage.  Sadly, the problem persists. This year's cold, snowy winter resulted in more ice jams, especially in the gutter area below the chimney. There are brick chips in the gangway and the chimney wall in the dining room is stained again. It's time to check out other options.  I called Sol for information about chimney liners.  He responded immediately to my Angie's email and answered all of my questions. I need to consult with gutter and other specialists before initiating work but I will certainly call Sol to bid on the liner.

He even went up on the roof on a nasty rainy day to do additional inspection. "The job began with major repairs in mind, but upon further review while making the repairs a change in plans occurred and Anthony and Ryan ended up demolishing the chimney and rebuilding it. Anthony explained everything they were doing as the project progressed. The project took one week. Nick had the roofer come out 3 days earlier then planned to build the "saddle" and install the flashing. We were very happy he did since we had a down pour the next 2 days.
Anthony and Ryan were as concerned about the cleanup as they were with the construction of the new chimney.

"Larry and his crew are exceptional. Our mid-century modern home has three different roof styles--a flat roof over our bedrooms, a very low slope/cathedral roof over the living room, and a regular gable roof over the kitchen. We sought advice from the National Roofing Contractor's Association regarding how best to handle our roof replacement, insulation and ventilation, and we consulted our Village inspector regarding same. We also met with several roofing contractors for quotes on our roof replacement project, and not only was Larry's quote competitive, but his attention to this project was exemplary. Larry's company is a member of the NRCA, which was important to us as consumers. Larry met with us on several occasions to discuss the pros and cons of our unique roof situation, and we worked out a plan for having our carpenter insulate our roof during the flat roof tear off process. We had spent so much time researching and coordinating this project so that by the time it came for us to choose a shingle color, we just wanted it to be over. Larry cautioned us that since we had so carefully researched the techincal aspects of this project, we shouldn't rush the shingle color selection step as he wanted us to be happy with the look of the roof in the end. We were able to call Larry's shingle supplier and get addresses of homes with the colored shingles we were considering. This was an invaluable step in the process. You cannot choose a shingle color by looking at a few feet of shingles on a board. We would have been sorely disappointed if we had selected our initial color choice as it looked much too light when it was on an actual house. In addition, we were impressed with Derek and the entire installation crew. They were neat and respectful of us and our property, and pointed out a chimney condensation problem to us with concern and care for our home. We love our new roof, and we highly recommend Lake Point Roofing.
