"Don and his crew essentially started from scratch on our whole yard beginnning with the design.  Our original plan was to do this project in 2 phases...back yard and side (with retaining wall) but we decided to have him do the whole yard since it just made sense (and he priced out the front yard well within our budget). <br /> The job including the following: <br /> - Brought in 160 cubic yards of fill to raise the level of the back yard. <br /> - Built a new retaining wall on the one side of our house. <br /> - Built a patio and fire pit out of pavers. <br /> - Planted a number of larger trees (Black Hills Spruce, Aspen and some birch) <br /> - Lots of stone work <br /> - Rip-rap'd the entire back property line to prevent the new fill from eroding (looks absolutely awesome). <br /> - Stone edging along the new planting areas in the front yard. <br /> - Added LED lighting along sidewalk in front yard as well as lighting around patio/fire pit. <br /> - Added a new hosta garden along the property line in the back yard <br /> - Tapered the slope of both sides of the house. <br /> - Sodded the entire front, side and back yard. <br /> I interviewed 7 different landscape companies before I found (and ultimately hired) Don and his crew.  They did a spectacular job and were very meticulous.  I'm a perfectionist (so the wife says anyway) and these guys did a great job far exceeding my expectations. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"I bid approximately 10 different people across three categories: landscapers, contractors and masons. The landscapers were stumped given it was structural and it was graduated (grew from small to tall). The contractors were very matter of fact as were most of the masons; demo it and build it with this one brick style that they were accustomed to using. Scott came out and was very self-assured as to how he was going to tackle the project and he explained how he was going to do it and why. Prior to this however, on the phone, he sent us to his website to check out all the retaining walls he had previously done, both structural and more for esthetic purposes (my words) I will say. After he explained his approach, he then got out his brick catalog and gave us a couple of options then he would recommend. Then, he saw that we had a large tree nearby and recommended that perhaps we might want to go with a smooth vs. textured stone so that all the sap and other tree droppings wouldn't cling to the brick. This is the type of attention to detail that Scott brings to the project. He was right on budget, his team was very pleasant and very nice, and they were very clean when they were done. I would use them again in a minute. I am not sure that there isn't anything with stone that Scott hasn't done. <br />"

"Simons Landscaping Company does excellent job but they are definitely high end. If one wants to get something done really fast and really well then I would recommend them. They were super friendly. They were super professional when they came to do the estimate but the quote came in really high. I would not get a quote from them in the future because they are just too expensive for us."

"Was very pleased with the overall result of New Again. I submitted dimensions and pictures over the website and received a very competitive quote. After stripping the deck there were a few more boards where some rotting was identified and Barak and his team replaced them promptly. Stain looks great and made an immediate difference. I had been contemplating if my 20 year old deck was too far gone and needed replacing... but after seeing what Barak could do with stripping the old paint off, replacing some bad boards, and staining... I'm very glad I chose to do this rather than replacement."

"Even though the job cost increased when we learned about our yard, it was the right thing to do for the house. Drew diagnosed that the yard on either side of our house needed to be graded in order to protect the bracing work that was done inside. They were fast, efficient, courteous, on time and easily one of the tightest run ships I have worked with. Highly recommend."

"He was a nice young man. He was very gracious. He did a good job the second time. I checked it over. I pointed out what I wanted fixed correctly and then I let him do his thing. Then I turned the sprinklers on and checked the direction and spray after that."

FAQs for interlocking pavers for driveways & floors installation projects in Winsted, MN

With proper maintenance, permeable pavement can last for over 20 years. Bi-annual vacuuming prevents clogs from debris and sediment, extends the pavement’s lifespan, and helps you avoid costly driveway repairs. Permeable pavement often has a shorter lifespan in areas with heavy traffic or harsh weather conditions.

Pervious and porous usually refer to pouring asphalt or concrete—which is a single massive object—but with enough small holes to allow for even drainage. This is also sometimes called thirsty concrete. Permeable concrete pavers are precast concrete designed to also allow for drainage. Permeable grass pavers allow grass to grow through them and provide drainage.

Pervious, porous, and permeable pavers are similar because they make it easier for rain or snow to drain or absorb into the ground rather than overload the storm or sewer systems.

The most significant benefit of water-permeable pavement is that it helps precipitation absorb better (and slower) into the ground, which avoids overloading sewers and causing overflows and backups. It also helps recharge the groundwater and prevent agricultural runoff from lawns.

If you’ve ever seen water rushing into a storm drain, permeable pavement prevents that. Instead of water running off a steep driveway, a good amount of it “soaks” directly underneath the pavement.

Topmix permeable concrete costs $8 to $16 per square foot, including all installation costs. However, they give out estimates on a project-by-project basis. However, Tarmac, the company that made the product, no longer produces Topmix.

Ecoraster is a brand that offers many different permeable paving options in North America. Prices vary depending on the product and project. They’ll give estimates for each individual project. While not actual pavers, these grids serve a similar function. Ecoraster grids come in various styles and allow for similar drainage compared to permeable pavers or porous paving.

Permeable driveways may cost slightly more than a traditional paving type, but they reduce or eliminate the need to install any other type of drainage system. Drainage systems cost $2,000 to $6,500 to install. They also reduce stormwater runoff, sewer overflows, and help eliminate urban agriculture runoff, which can pollute waterways.
