"Lou Sullivan was an absolute pleasure to work with. He showed up on time to do the estimate, walked me through the stamping/colorization process, and gathered required info from me to help him ascertain how to achieve the finished look I desired (including layout, colors, and expansion joint locations). Once done he provided me with an estimate as well as his availability. At no point did I feel pressured, and Lou's professionalism made it feel like I was working with a partner who was genuinely invested in helping me achieve my objective. After agreeing on both a price and timing, Lou returned with his crew to do the work, as scheduled. Again he was punctual, and his crew did a fantastic job of getting the pour down, spread, stamped, colored, and cut (expansion joints) in a timely fashion. A week later (to allow curing) Lou returned to seal the finished product. I'm writing this review more than 18 months after completion of the project -- and waited this long to see how the finished product held up. When clean (as opposed to covered in pollen), my patio looks as good as it did the day after it was sealed. I'm very pleased with the result and would/will engage Carolina Decorative Concrete again should I have a need for more work of this type. Lou is a true professional and a master at his craft. Important: It should be noted that I already had a 4" base of level, tamped crush & run in place for the patio … as well forms in place to hold the concrete pour. Thus, the pricing I received was strictly for the decorative concrete work, as all required prep work had already been performed prior to engaging Lou. Those in need of prep work should factor its cost in, of course."

"Highly recommended!  I contracted with Brick Solutions owner, Joe Walls, to have a badly damaged concrete driveway replaced with brick pavers.  I had previously gotten estimates for replacing the driveway with new concrete but I was concerned about damaging the roots of a very old tulip poplar tree adjacent to the driveway.  When the concrete contractor informed
me if he didn?t cut the roots he couldn?t guarantee the concrete but if he did cut the roots he could not guarantee the tree would survive, I decided to go with brick.
Joe said he could do the driveway without damaging the roots.  He broke up the old concrete with a jackhammer rather than bringing in heavy equipment.  We consulted with an arborist who told Joe what could or could not be cut.  When our plan to save a portion of the old concrete did not work out because it was too cracked Joe volunteered to break it up and replace it
with brick at no extra charge.  He worked carefully, followed all out suggestions, and managed to give us a smooth brick
driveway that looks much better than what we had before.
In short, Brick Solutions did a great job for a reasonable price and it was pleasure to work with Joe.

"The job was done in a very professional manner paying attention to detail and quality of the supplies provided and used for the fencing. The job was done efficiently and exactly to the specifications that I required. He made sure that I was satisfied with the job at different stages of the construction. I had one or two specific things that I wanted done and he made sure that they were installed properly as they were being done. He worked very neatly and cleaned up all of the property of any cut or waste materials. "The construction of the repairs was very good, but I was left with some cleanup. A few shards of broken concrete and the asphalt in the street has a layer of gray that hopefully is not hardened concrete. I haven't tried to clean that up yet. Also, the cement guy appears to have poured a small amount of concrete at the base of a speed sign and another patch nearby in the middle of the grass. Not cool. I did not complain to them about these issues, so I wouldn't hold it against them. I'd hire them again. After seeing how hard they worked, I decided to take care of the cleanup issues myself."

"Delvin Barker came to our home in Raleigh, bringing along Jovanta Agu to undertake our LONG list of oddball items that really needed to be done. They were WONDERFUL. We had contracted Barkers Brickpavers for a variety of jobs which included replacing damaged bead board, installing a tile backsplash and painting damaged ceilings in the bathroom, kitchen and mudroom. They also patched sheet rock in a bedroom, installed a backsplash behind the stove, and installed paneling in the mud room. Despite an already long list of things to do, they did not falter when they discovered an unexpected pipe leak during the paneling installation. Delvin quickly assessed the problem, advised us of the necessary fix needed and added that to their list. They were hardworking, efficient and VERY GOOD at each task they undertook, as well as being very reasonably priced. "We received 3 estimates on our scope of work.  We chose We Do Concrete Cheap not only for the cost but because of Eric Parker, the owner.  He's a no nonsense, tell it like it is, type of person who isn't out to scam you or make a fortune.  He wants to do a good job and make you happy by not over charging you but by making a living as well.  We had 28 yards of conrete poured in our back yard.  For those that don't know, that's 3 1/2 cement truck loads.  The crew got there, unloaded the equipment, unloaded the fill dirt, put up the forms, and had the pour ready within 1 day.  They came the next day and worked all day into the evening to pour the 3 1/2 truck loads of cement.  Eric has a lead man who oversees the job and he was knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.  Our 11 year old son was allowed to work with the crew and boy what a crew!  There were at least 5 to 7 people working in our yard at one time, getting the concrete poured, leveled, and brushed.  After the concrete cured, the crew removed the forms and hauled off the debris.  Eric came and took pictures and made sure we were happy with their work.  This was the best money that we have spent on our home this year and the We Do Concrete Cheap crew was excellent to work with.
Eric is also working with our insurance company on trying to settle a lightning strike that occured on 7/2/13 that put nine 2-3' holes throughout our extensive front driveway.  Eric has emailed the insurance company, called the insurance company, and is going to meet with the structural engineer in regards to our claim.  Talk about going above and beyond.  All of this because he wants the job and knows that the only way we can re-pour our front driveway is if the insurance company pays for the lightning damage.  Regardless of whether we can settle amicably with the insurance company or not, Eric and his team from We Do Concrete Cheap will be back at our home in the next 2 months to pour, stamp, and stain our front walkway.  We cannot wait for the final results as they do fabulous work!
