"My wife and I had put a lot of time trying to figure out a contractor that we could trust to put a deck on our new home. We had used Nick and his team in the past with great experiences, but never something this large. With that said, we called him again for a quote on a maintenance free deck w/stairs. He was very transparent about the pricing and that most people get sticker shock when receiving his bid. I can confirm, it's not cheap. Fortunately I went in knowing it likely won't be cheap and set my numbers very high so when his bid came in, I was prepared. We accepted the bid and scheduled to get the deck started as soon as the permit & association approved. Nick's team was able to get the deck completed within a week and they were nothing but professional throughout the process. The city inspector came in and nitpicked a few things, but it was all very minor and Nick was more than willing to come out and remediate the findings. The only issue we had was with stair lighting. This was something that we did not budget for and was not part of the bid. Unfortunately the city inspector would not sign off until they were light (with a minimum of moonlight). I worked with Nick and we came to a compromise where I bought the lights and his team installed them shortly after. Overall I had a great experience with Nick and I would recommend anyone to use them for their construction needs."

"It's true: working with Hal is not like working with other contractors. With Hal, you are developing a relationship, not fulfilling the terms of a contract. For some that might be more than they want out of a contractor. For me, it was exactly what I needed. Example: I was talking with Hal about another matter when we both happened to notice some rotting boards on our deck. I thought it was unsightly, but nothing serious. Hal persuaded me that, without immediate attention, the rot would spread to the joists underneath, and what was a small problem now would be a big problem later. He replaced the deck boards on time and for the price he quoted. I can now rest assured I won't be plunging through the deck this summer. Along the way, Hal fixed some off-kilter gates in our yard, and also consulted with me about some stains on our stucco (thus managing to solve a problem that had stumped several other contractors). He's always on the end of the line when I have a home repair question. He's been there for me for some five years now. There's plenty of quality workers out there, but not many who will listen as well, contribute as much, and return as often as Hal Morris."

"They are a nice provider. I talked to them on the phone for about 30 minutes and they sent some samples. We were able to get a discount on designer purchases but not useful on designing the space. Once we told them what we wanted, they were able to help purchase from the warehouse and save about $1,500. I think they became too busy with this big deal. You buy a ticket per room and we still actually have a couple left with this provider. After redesigning one room, we kind of ran out of steam and have not designed the other rooms. Overall this is a good service and it's a good concept. Whomever I spoke with, she was really nice. I would recommend this provider. This kind of service seems to be for people with time and knows exactly what they want. They are super helpful with the designer discount from the warehouse. They don't actual design your room which is slight flaw."
