"Excellent service! Jim was polite and worked efficiently and neatly. He wore a mask and covers on his shoes. I would definitely recommend Home Systems Appliance Repair and would definitely use them again if needed. Thanks also to Angie’s list for your invaluable service."

Customers say: Quick response

"Every element of this service was great. 1. They texted instead of calling. Several other pros called first, and I find phone calls to be disruptive most of the time. 2. They set expectations right away. 3. They were super communicative via text and also via phone when needed. 4. They complied with my request that they wear a mask when inside the house. 5. They fixed our dryer quickly and efficiently! 6. Technician was courteous and professional. Overall, a top-notch service experience. Thank you, Acute Appliance Repair!"

"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"This company was recommended by Angie's List so we went with them. <br /> We told them the 2 problems with the over when we booked the repair slot. <br /> They sent their repair person out to assess the issue and concluded the same thing - heating element was cracked (easy to see) and the hinges were failing. <br /> What was extremely frustrating was that there were no parts in stock for the service person to bring with to make a speedy repair. Instead he needed to return to the office the next day to turn in paperwork and get the parts ordered.   And no electronic way to do this from the repair site.   <br /> How odd and annoying in the era of everything being cellular/mobile devices that parts could not be ordered immediately. And all they could say was this was how they have done business for the last 30+ years.  This was even more frustrating to a customer in the age where instant is taken as the standard.  If they were not going to have any parts in their own stock for the brands they can service, one would think obtaining them would have been an easier process.  They need to get with the times. <br /> And not only did it take a while to get the parts (a week), Viking wound up not sending them when they were expected.  Given that Amazon can do same day shipment, one would think Viking could get parts to its customers in 2 or 3 days using simple UPS of FedEx.  And repeated calls to Wuerstlins  to find out when the parts were coming were answered with "we don't know, we have no way of tracking this."  Ridiculous in the age where everything shipped is tracked - even the USPS can track mail, so why can't Viking and Wuerstlins?  It should never be an unknown to a customer when parts are coming and when the repair will be done.  Especially for high-end equipment like a Viking oven.   <br /> And, they charged me for the shipping of the parts to them.  When you are used to free shipping for everything from everyone else, this is frustrating too.  I would have been happier if they would have built this into their resale price and not shown it to me than to show me the shipping charge. <br /> The only positive was that when the repair person was here, he was efficient, got the repair done, tested the over, and put everything back together. <br /> Bottom line, we were without the over for 2 weeks waiting on this repair.  This to me is crazy and left me still a disappointed customer in the overall use of this company. <br /> I checked "no I would not use them again" as there was no choice for "maybe."  I think I would try someone else first.  But I would ask any other service place first - do you have parts in stock and does the repair person bring parts with so the over can be potentially fixed in one visit rather than 2? <br />"

"I reached out to Wooten 3-4 times over a week—left phone/vxmail messages and messages through Angies List app. Never received a call back or reply. I called Bray & Scarff (all my appliances are from them) and spoke to their service dept the same day; received a repair appointment for the following week. They called me 2-days before appt and again on the morning of."

"My experience with B A R Appliances AC LLC was a good one. Henry, the service provider, is a rare professional. It's not easy finding a service provider that is prompt, professional, and honest. One of the things that I appreciated most about Henry was the follow-up to confirm the appointment time. We're all very busy so I value service providers that respect my time as much as I respect theirs. I also found Henry's honesty refreshing and plan to use this service provider again. Thanks, Henry!"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Woodstock, MD

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
