"Steven did a phenomenal job installing a new 30amp interlock device at existing electrical panel and install 30amp 240 volt outdoor receptacle for standby generator. Affordable, reliable, and was great to work with. Steve was personable, professional, and I would highly recommend him for any electrical work need in your home or business."

"Everyone knows finding and getting an electrician is difficult, probably due to the demand. Several years ago when our former electrician retired, We still needed several additional upgrades having then saved up enough money and researched what typically the costs might be. Some estimates we received were way out of the ballpark. Actually Stephen Capadona was not the lowest estimate nor the highest, but he demonstrated reliability during this initial phase which convinced us to hire him.. He added more circuits, both outdoors and indoors along with other smaller projects they we had saved up to get done. Just this month again -for the 3rd time - he responded timely to my call, showed up the next day and thoroughly fixed the problem. We are completely satisfied with the work done and highly recommend his services."

"I sought quotes for a panel upgrade from 100 amps to 200 amps. Nick was very personable, and he is knowledgeable about electrical projects. He scheduled the project very quickly and was flexible about when he would do the work around my family's schedule. He did some prework ahead of the panel upgrade so that on the day of the upgrade, our electricity would be out for the shortest time. He kept me informed about the progress. I enjoyed working with him."

"Michael came to my house and upgraded my 100 amp panel to a 200 amp panel for my solar installation project I had coming up. He was very thorough in explaining all the work that needed to be done, how long I would be without power, and was very knowledgeable in all of the questions I had. After removing my service and replacing it with the new 200 amp, he went through the entire house and checked what each breaker was wired to and marked it inside my panel very neat and organized. Couldn’t be happier with the experience from start to finish. If you need any work done to your home I highly recommend Mike and I will definitely be contacting him in the future if I ever need any other work done. Thanks Mike!!!"

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Woodville, MA

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
