"Worthmann Roofing installed a new metal roof on our home. There was a part that needed additional work but unfortunately, it rained before it could be completed and some damage was done. Worthmann Roofing FULLY STOOD behind their warranty and repaired the affected. Additionally, I would like to mention that the restoration company, Morales Restoration, was SO good. They cleaned, mopped and left our home clean and as good as of it had never happened. Last but not least, a special “Thank you” to Joey with Worthmann Roofing for your guidance in getting this done. We truly do appreciate it!"

"Gary, was very helpful and pointed me on the right direction after I had discussed my concerns. Had he been able to help me I would have gladly hired him. My system ended up being under warranty and he suggested I contact the manufacture as to not void my warranty."

"I've had J&M Roofing out for two different repair jobs and have been completely satisfied each time. in both cases Matt Gadue was quick to show up (within 24 hours) to assess and estimate the job. The estimates were fair and the time frame to repair was quick. No job overruns and the work exceeded my expectations in each case. I've worked with a lot of contractors over the years, and Matt is truly top notch. Not only does he do great work, but he makes sure you understand what he is doing and that you feel like his best/only customer. Thanks for all the work on my house!"

"I received a prompt call back after contacting Whittle's. Eric came and checked out the issue... and gave me the bad news. With all the shingles that would need to be replaced, in the worst case, we were looking at ~$1,000. I gave him the go-ahead. Two days later the repair guy, Bobby, called me and set up an appointment. Only the weather delayed the work from being done the same week. He showed up on time, explained what he was doing, and after taking off some siding to better understand the issue gave me the news. There was a drainage issue, the damage was minimal, and the fix required no new shingles. He fashioned and installed a diverter to eliminate the problem."

"Responded to my call quickly and came out the next day for a free estimate-called to let me know he was running late and came when he said he would. Estimate was very fair-this was a big job.  Scheduled work for the following day and he came right at the agreed time. Was very professional and friendly and he gave me some helpful pointers. Completed the job quickly and efficiently.
Will call in the future for yard & tree work. Thanks, Mario!

"I was very pleased with Excel Home Solar's salesman, engineering and follow up after install. The salesman was very professional and spent time explaining all the solar components. He viewed my roof to make sure there was room for the panels and he answered all my questions. The estimate sheet showed all the calculations for size of system, total cost and financing payments for my 5.8KW system. A few days later the engineering staff inspected my roof and electric panel in the garage. They explained the next steps and rough estimate of the installation date. They scheduled installation and completed the job in one day in spite of a mid day thunderstorm. I'm very happy."

FAQs for heating cable for roof installation projects in Worthington-springs, FL

A typical heat cable uses 5 watts per foot, regardless of the outside temperature. So, if your cable is 100 feet long, it uses 500 watts per hour. Expect to pay an additional $40 to $200 or more per month on your electricity bill. Be sure to turn manual cables off in the summer when you don't need them.

To install heat tape on your roof, place it along the lower edge in a precise zig-zag pattern to maximize coverage and heat distribution. Professional installers secure the tape with specialized clips that attach firmly to your shingles. This method ensures even heat distribution to effectively melt ice and snow while maintaining your roof's integrity during severe winter conditions.

Choosing between heated gutters and roof heating cables usually comes down to budget, appearance, and performance. Heated gutters cost less to install and blend seamlessly with your home’s exterior, making them a discreet, lower-cost option for preventing ice dams. Roof heating cables deliver more customizable and powerful heat along roof edges to handle heavy snow and ice, but they require more material and labor, increasing your upfront investment. Evaluate your roof design, winter weather demands, and energy budget to select the system that works best for your property.

Roof heating cables prevent ice dams by melting snow and stopping ice buildup at the roof edge. Ice damming occurs when melting snow refreezes on a cold roof—often right above the gutter line—and blocks water from draining, which can force moisture under shingles into your home. Heating cables maintain a warm channel that clears ice dams as soon as they form and protects your roof from water damage and structural issues.

Roof heating cables last between two and ten years before replacement is needed, wearing out faster than your roof itself. Their lifespan depends on climate severity, cable type, and exposure to physical damage. Consistent inspections and preventative maintenance—such as clearing debris, tightening clips, and checking electrical connections—can extend their service life and ensure reliable snow and ice protection each winter.

To safely remove snow from your roof, start with a specially designed roof rake, standing firmly on the ground and pulling snow downhill rather than climbing onto the roof. You can also apply calcium chloride ice melt to break up stubborn ice or gently use a secured rope from a safe vantage point.

Keep in mind that large snow slabs can weigh hundreds of pounds and pose a serious fall risk. If conditions are hazardous or you lack the right equipment, hire a professional to protect your safety and your roof’s integrity.
