Small business that started 12 years ago with one person. Now I have a full time interior designer that works with me. We do mostly residential clients, but we have done some doctor/dental offices.

"Erik was hired to install IKEA cabinets in our home for a full kitchen renovation. I felt confident in assembling the cabinets and finishing them (doors, hardware, drawers, toe kicks, etc) but we wanted a professional to make sure the cabinets were hung level, plumb, and square. From our first conversation it was obvious that Erik is an expert in all things IKEA. He provided some guidance and changes to our design to make some subtle improvements that would not have been obvious to us. He also immediately identified a critical flaw in our design that would have greatly impacted the final outcome but luckily we had enough time to get the proper replaced item. Communication with Erik was decent but be prepared for patience with emails and texts. Phone calls seemed to be most effective. Also be prepared to be patient for his schedule. Despite our efforts to plan ahead and get on “his radar” back in July, it still took several rounds of calls and discussions to finally get a week nailed down and the arrival day wasn’t determined until the week-of. You will need to be flexible. The installation was very fast - he had all of the work completed in one day. He is also very precise and detailed. He took time to show me how cabinets were anchored to the wall, that cabinets were level and prepped for the countertop template. He also cleaned up nicely, was courteous in our home and has a professional demeanor. The installation wasn’t without issue though. He accidentally stepped on a weak piece of our corner cabinet and broke it. His solution was to “sister” a piece below it. I was told it wouldn’t affect the countertops as this had no load bearing properties and it won’t be visible once countertops are installed. I believe that he is correct, and accidents happen, but it was disappointing as mishaps was something I wanted to avoid and large reason why we elected to hire someone rather than do the installation ourselves. No adjustment was made to the agreed upon price to account for the broken cabinet which I felt would have been the appropriate thing to do even it was a minor reduction. Overall, I would hire Erik again and be better prepared to be patient and clearly a communicate my expectations. He is precise, detailed, and very knowledgeable on IKEA systems. His involvement resulted in a nice overall outcome."

"We had someone locally install faux wood blinds in three of our rooms and I didn't like the quality of the blinds and didn't want to use them for the whole house.  After researching online, I decided on selectblinds.com and ordered blinds for the whole house.  I ordered them in 2012 and then again I ordered for three rooms just recently so that I could change the color of the blinds.  I have been very pleased with the quality of the blinds and they are holding up well. <br />"

We saw Palace of Glass product at one of our local glass shop on display and got fascinated by this innovative product. We end up doing 3 exterior window in the bathroom and some interior doors with the matching design. "From start to finish I had a pleasant experience with this company. I was recommended by a friend to check it out. I spoke with a rep who sent home samples of items so we could decide which color worked best. I chose what I would like and an estimate was sent over. Considering the quality of the carpeting I chose, the estimate was spot on. It took approximately two weeks to get the carpeting ordered and in. After the installation, I noticed a few nails that were not nailed down. I contacted the store and the owner himself came out and went around all the edges to insure it was properly fixed. I am done installing carpet and flooring in my home but recently had them out to my mother's home to measure for some new carpet to be laid in her home. I would recommend them over and over again. <br />"

"At the start, in mid-July, there was no response to my website request and I had to call by phone to schedule an appointment. I actually liked their practice of asking for payment for design services, allowing for a more detailed proposal and applying that amount to the project if one chooses to stay with them. Initially I was encouraged by Katie's approach but I think she's just too busy to handle all of the projects she's taken on. After I had been to the showroom and made several selections, she said she would call me in a day or two when my preferred flooring samples were available from an outside vendor. I didn't hear from her for three weeks and then she told me that flooring company was no longer in business and sent me to another vendor. Throughout the process there were lots of delays and excuses (email went to spam, the computer file with my design became corrupted and couldn't be opened for review, short-staffed, regular mail was sent but lost). Although I was never able to see an actual design, the proposed budget was nearly double my request (35,000) that I had indicated during my initial request. She was able to shave off a little cost through minor adjustments but could not get close to an acceptable amount and did not offer suggestions for further cost-cutting. <br /> On the plus side, they have a nice showroom and, from looking at pictures of work they've done, it seems they provide a high quality of workmanship to those clients for whom they can make time. <br />"
