Customers say: Quick response

"Shelly and her team was AMAZING! She showed up and gave us a one hour free consultation, helping us choose flooring and tiles for the bathroom - they came out so elegant, I wouldnâ t have picked anything remotely close as beautiful! Shelly really brought on a valuable addition to our bathroom renovation project - her great taste - on top of her teamâ s excellent craft, all the finishing touches and all done within reasonable amount of time! We also were quoted for a flat fee, all materials and labor included. But in the end we had asked Shellyâ s team to complete a few additional tasks, such as putting on door knobs and installing a ceiling fan, adding a towel bar and framing small tiles around a cabinet - she didnâ t even charge us for an extra day of work!! We were truly grateful. If you hired her company youâ ll be delighted with the experience and very pleased with the result!"

Customers say: Super punctual

"Background- I was finally able to afford a new counter top- did research and Angi/Home Advisor kept coming up.So I checked out what was offered for counter tops - 3 came up -2 did not respond and VPT Quartz or Vilorio's Personal Touch. I had an estimate appt on 7/18/24. A "MIKE" showed show up eventfully - very late & full of excuses. Since he was so late I decided to let my Pit Bull & German Shepard- ( since they been locked up for a few hrs. And I was doing some yard work. He did not show any respect for the time it me to put the dogs away again and clean up. I told him I didn't appreciate him showing up like that with no call- he stated he text me but I have a landline (which I made very clear to Brian (office person) so again another excuse. I let him come in (free estimate anyway & a 5 star rating). Mike comes in and starts with the great deals he has. Then starts doing measurements just by pushing my stuff that I had left On the counter out of the way like garbage. Which I found disrespectful. Lucky(????) for me MIke has a piece of quartz that would fit- a speckled white. Mike will give a good price $1300 -I said like to think about it. Then Mike throw in another deal (that's because he didn't like the over the counter sink I had & the faucet installed myself professionally w/o no problem) but I knew that the sink & faucet deal($100) was ok. So I agreed. ;Mike stated he would come back to make sure he had the right measurements, called I to make the appointment and right away Brian asked for installation date - I responded "NO" but the date Mike was to come back for measurements. Then Brian asked for a $700 deposit & I stated I only had $500- But Mike really it was to collect the deposit(rude again) so as not to assist with my project. Installation Date:7/25/24 between 1-3 PM 3 strangers & a kid show up & no Mike(supposedly the installer), no Identification on them or the truck (which was a beat up pickup truck) Some impression ,huh. When I asked where Mike was, they said he was coming- later. So I waited a little while , NO MIKE, and still concerned why a young child was brought to the job. I ended up letting them in ( a little **** about the child in the truck with nothing to do). Out of kindness I moved my truck out the way so it would be helpful for them to get the counter top in. NO appreciation. Like it was expected. They ripped out the old sink, faucet & counter top and left in the driveway. I had to show them the contract that stated they would be responsible for disposal- I got an attitude about that. The Counter top had to wait because the sink had to go in first. That's done and the counter top installed & looks good. The Faucet: It was a problem for the workers ( I call them workers/laborers because I noticed none of them were plumbers, or skilled laborers) The Hot water connection was no problem. The Cold water connection must have been ripped out when they took the sink out(I'm guessing , because again I had installed a faucet with no problems. The connections the laborer ( not a plumber) to the Faucet had no pressure(I thought that maybe the hose they used was the wrong size) & he didn't know what to do about it ;looks like he use a few junk connectors, a faulty turner (one that looks like you would use on an outside faucet) ,jimmy it together and it leaks. What a mess they left. I had to re- sweep under the sink area, the counter top where they had to drill a bigger hole because the faucet didn't fit that need a total wipe down causing dust which then I had to vacuum. And I had left the area spotless and expected to be returned to the same cleanliness I had done. I called about the situation and spoke with Brian again and he would contact MIKE .Mike came explained the sometimes stuff get into the faucet during installation and he brought an extra faucet head. I also mentioned that it was leaking - Mike checked and didn't feel a leak. Why because his hands were wet???? Who checks for leak with wet hands Then Which happened to get me thinking that the sink & faucet was the closing of the deal. No favor to me. Well folks I had to call again because now it is still leaking. I called 7/28 to report this problem and Brain stated that Mike will be out either 7/30 or 7/31. Never heard back."

"I called PEC floors, based on their positive reviews on multiple "review" websites. I needed them tio do an epoxy/flake floor topping on my Brooklyn basement floor which was just old raw concrete. Their communication, Jonathan especially, was excellent, throughout the job. Even when unexpected problems in timing occurred, there was excellent communication from Shay. The issue was resolved and work was completed as originally scheduled. Their price was what I considered fair and the work was done on time, on budget and in a professional manner. The basement looks great. The color flake we chose was called "Cabin Fever", 2020 appropriate, LOL. Pics included. Thank you PEC."

"Excellent, no problems. My car was new the first year I used the service and there has never been any damage during the transports. The men picking up and delivering the car have always been pleasant and cooperative. Both Ely and Guy at United Transport has been highly responsive to my needs. I would highly recommend this company."

FAQs for laminate countertops installation projects in Yonkers, NY

With the right care and a professional installation, laminate counters last 10 to 15 years. Wipe up spills quickly, clean with a nonabrasive product, and keep hot pots off the surface to prevent warping or scorch marks. Limiting prolonged moisture at seams also pays off. Your installer can walk you through simple maintenance habits that will help you squeeze every year out of your new counters.

Yes—if the existing laminate is solid and level, a pro can bond a fresh sheet right on top. They’ll rough up the old surface, apply the correct adhesive, and make precise cuts so the new layer sits tight. Skipping steps can lead to bubbles or weak seams, so this project is best left to an experienced installer who has the tools to deliver a clean, durable finish.

Absolutely, you can give tired laminate a facelift with paint, tile, or a concrete overlay instead of a full tear-out. The key is thorough prep: clean, degrease, and lightly sand so the new finish sticks.

Follow the product instructions for primer, sealers, and cure times, or hire a pro if you’d rather avoid the mess. When done correctly, these updates freshen the look and add a few more years of useful life.

Mix baking soda with just enough water to form a paste, then spread it over the stain and let it sit for five minutes. Wipe away with a soft, damp cloth—don’t scrub, as abrasives can dull the surface. Repeat if needed. For stubborn marks, ask your installer about cleaners made specifically for laminate.

Laminate isn’t built to battle the elements. Water, UV rays, and temperature swings quickly cause swelling, fading, and mold. Even a covered patio won’t protect the material for long. If you’re planning an outdoor kitchen or bar, skip laminate and choose a weather-tough option like stone, tile, or concrete so you don’t end up replacing your counters after the first season.

Traditional laminate isn’t the greenest choice. Most sheets rely on plastics like melamine and can emit trace VOCs over time. They also can’t be recycled at the end of their life. A few brands now use recycled pulp cores, but plastics still make up much of the product.

If sustainability tops your list, consider natural or recyclable materials such as solid wood, stone, or recycled glass instead.
