"Roy accomplished the work in a very professional and skilled manner. He was not afraid to discuss, listen and work out solutions. He worked by the hour, wasted no time and stood behind his work. There were other companies I interviewed previously and they were unwilling to work with me the way Roy did. I will not hesitate to hire him for future projects."

"<p>At first I was a bit leery of handing out a good size check to get things rolling. My fears soon dissipated. Dale is very professional; he lets you know what will be done when and he keeps to it. He responds within minutes if you call, text or email him. I work out of town each week so a lot of communication was with phone, email, text and sending of pictures back and forth.</p> <p>All that means a lot, I do not to worry if and when things will get done. He may be a bit more expensive than other contractors...but you get what you pay for.</p> <p>I had a few issues after install, cracked toilet bowl, lighting issues. He was responsive and fixed all immediately. </p> <p><br /></p> <p>I whole heartily recommend him and I intend to use him in the future.</p> . <br />"

"He's great. He's worked for me a couple of different times. He's really good and he does a good job. He finishes his work and he's fair. He's innovative when something goes wrong and he can handle it. He's done a really good job. The painter did not do something right. So this guy came back and made the painter fix it right for me. He did not even fuss about it. He just came back and fixed it. They were responsive even when I was not here. They were punctual. They are professional but they are local guys. They come dressed in ordinary clothes but everything was clean each day and swept up. They handled it beautifully. They weren't like other builders where they come dressed professionally and given us their bids and done all that professionally. They are a small company which includes Dean and his two sons. They seem to handle their work in such a way, where they complete one job and move on to the next. They don't put the whole bunch of other jobs together. I would use their services again in the future."

"With a 120 year old house. I wanted to get a professional opinion in the event of remodel, etc. The services from my initial scheduling appointment through the actual assessing was top notch. They came recommended by my realtor and I felt that CBS delivered. I would highly recommend this professional company."

"Gene responded almost immediately to my first email inquiry, which resulted in a meeting at my home to view our basement space. He asked great questions in order to determine our needs and was able. He was able to offer several options and ideas while there and was also able to give opinions as to what changes would meet code or not. I was pleasantly surprised when Gene sent me two versions of plans within days of our meeting. The drawings are thorough and will greatly help in my quest to get estimates from contractors. <br />"

"B&R Hardwood & Tile did a wonderful job with our kitchen remodel. We ran into an issue with our floor cabinets, but Kurt and his team were able to provide a quick solution that kept the project moving forward. We also appreciated the communication, so we knew when contractors were coming to the house. We had a great experience with Kurt’s team, and we appreciated all the help to update our kitchen."

"Carl and his assistant (Will) were right on time and quickly got to work.  Once I explained what we wanted to do (remove a 6' section of wall) they inspected the existing structure, reviewed the load, how it was being distributed, and what, if any, concerns needed to be addressed. <br /> They then went into detail with me about what needed to be done, and explained everything in straight-forward terms that was easy to follow.  When they left, I knew that what we wanted to do was possible, what I needed to do, and exactly how to do it.   <br /> When it came time to pay, I was expecting to pay more.  They had quoted me a price that included both their time at our house as well as travel time to the house.  Carl explained they were on their way to another meeting, and he would only charge me for the time spent reviewing our remodel plans.   <br /> If I ever need an architect again, I won't bother searching for other quotes -- I'll just work with Carl and Will.  It was a pleasure working with them and I would happily recommend their services. <br />"

FAQs for remodel to accommodate a disability projects in Young-america, MN

Standard Medicare coverage often doesn't extend to home modifications, such as roll-in showers. In specific circumstances where medical necessity is clearly established, limited coverage might be available through certain Medicare programs. Many homeowners explore alternative funding sources such as home modification grants, veterans' benefits, or specialized financing programs designed for accessibility improvements. Consulting with a Medicare representative about your specific situation provides the most accurate guidance.

Roll-in showers deliver significant benefits beyond their monetary return, particularly in terms of safety, independence, and long-term accessibility. By eliminating barriers to bathing, these installations help prevent falls while accommodating mobility devices, such as wheelchairs or walkers. Their open design creates a contemporary appearance that appeals to many homebuyers. For households planning to age in place or accommodate family members with mobility challenges, the functional advantages often outweigh pure financial considerations.

A standard roll-in shower installation takes two to four days. Projects requiring extensive renovation or plumbing changes may take longer, potentially extending to several weeks or months. Factors affecting the timeline include existing bathroom configuration, permit processing times, contractor availability, and material delivery schedules. Creating proper drainage slopes often requires additional preparation time compared to traditional shower installations, particularly when modifying existing floor structures.
