"You cannot go wrong at all picking this company for your concrete work. The work that they did for us was done to the highest standards. This is a very good company with very high standards. If you’re looking for a true craftsman for your concrete work, this is the company to get, for sure. The finish on the concrete work was amazing. Well above our expectations. We can’t say enough about how pleased we are with the work of Renee and his crew."

"They were on time and on budget. They followed through with their design and offfer. They worked very hard and finished the project in just one day. They also noticed and offered a solution to an issue that would have developed if we hadn't acted. So, I really appreciate their forethought. "

Customers say: Quality work

"Hector and his team did d an outstanding job. My new driveway is beautiful. They showed up when promised and worked hard all day. They found a problem with the foundation of my house that needed to be repaired before replacing the driveway and rebuilt the foundation wall next to the driveway. I would recommend them to anyone needing concrete work done."

"We had to regrade / correct settling on our front porch and back patio. Jorge and his team were extremely professional and super polite. What I loved about them is their eye for detail and also not get frustrated with their work. If it was meant to be completed they did it. No 50% work.. full 100% commitment. Pricing was very very reasonable and would recommend them to everyone. They will be back in the summer for power washing and sealing the patio/ porch!"

Small jobs welcome

"They did an absolutely fantastic job, for a very reasonable price. David was a professional and a great consultant and the Foreman Ignacio was professional and courteous as well. They finished the project in the time frame they quoted. The front stairs and sidewalk looks really nice. ( Sorry no pix). But trust me, they did an awesome job. My mother was very happy with their work. "

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Zion, IL

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
