"Everything went well. Spoke with Gabriel on May 6th. He had Mike come out on May 7th after and emergency plumbing job. Mike gave me the estimate and told me what could be done but he would have to come back either later that day or the next day because he didn't have what he needed at the time. Mike called me back the same day and said that he couldn't make it back and would it be ok for him to come the next morning. I said sure, just call me after 10 am. Gabriel kept me updated with when and who was coming to the house because Lucas came the next day. He finished the job within 2 hours. The guys were very professional and courteous. I would hire them again if needed. Awesome job!!"

"I called several plumbers and got voicemails, no replies, or a reply that they were booked up for the near future.  Ray Laborite answered his phone, discussed the issue with me, apologized for not having any available that day but promised to send someone around 8 am the next morning.  His two man crew arrived as promised and on time.  They were just great!  They lstened to my explanation of what was happening, and after checking out the situation and confirming what the problem was caused by what was needed to fix it - they went ahead and resolved all the issues that morning.  I cannot say enough about these guys - responsive, professional, knowledgeable, and reasonable.  I will use them in the future for all plumbing needs. <br />"

"Great job, from start to finish. Tim, our consultant, was very helpful... never pushy, but offered many suggestions/ideas. Scott, our installer, seemed to work nonstop on the projects, tearing down enclosure to the base, and rebuilding step by step. Scott was efficient, using tarps and covers on nearby shelves, and cleaned up when work was done. Each project took 2 days."

"When I first called I spoke to Sheila who was very personable and professional. I was told they would come in the afternoon and was called during the morning to say they could come earlier if I wanted them to. Both men were very polite and professional. I needed the entire plumbing under my kitchen sink reset. I had purchased new countertops and sinks and faucet. Everything needed to be put back together. They did the work in half the time I thought it would take.they even had to add parts that connect the sink and disposal to the PVC pipes. They also cleared out a nearly totally blocked bathtub drain. The price was much less than I expected, I will definitely use them again. <br />"

"Professional plumbers are not inexpensive but I do believe we get great value from Erin and his team. When the work is done, it is done correctly and we do not need to call them back. Erin has been able to respond to our needs in a timely fashion. I am accused of being loyal to service providers. Erin has earned the loyalty. I encourage anyone with a need for plumbing expertise in Gladden Plumbing's service area to let them deliver similar results."

"It is a small local business. Every time I have called, he has been able to come out and has been able to fix things. Actually my father-in-law has built 3 houses and he has put in all of the plumbing in all those houses. So I really trust him. He is just good. He doesn't charge more than he needs to. He will do extra things while he is there, if you need something else looked at. I always feel like I am getting my money's worth. I think it is $80 to come out and then whatever he does is on top of that."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Boone, NC

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
