"Stallion was able to work with our schedule and budget to tear up old, broken asphalt and pour a new concrete driveway. The team worked efficiently to create a beautiful new driveway. Whenever we had questions, Fahad would work to address them or provide background information. We would definitely use them again for a similar project."

"Muhammad completed some concrete work in my back yard. This was a 2 day project and he gave me a fair price. Bright Stone was accommodating with my time frame, arrived on-time, and provided professional care to my home. They also cleaned up afterwards and discarded of the trash."

"We hired JB to put in a short driveway and repair some broken concrete in front of our garage. It was a joint project with the next door neighbors, who also needed their bluestone sidewalk replaced with concrete in order to make a workable driveway. I asked if I could have the salvaged bluestone. JB took care of the city permits, and the workers were there at 8 AM, prying up bluestone and piling it neatly in my back yard. The driveway looks great."

"We are very pleased with how our outdoor patio came out. The owner suggested California stucco on the side of the house instead of just replacing the tile. We really like how it looks. The tile itself was done to perfection. The job itself had difficulties because of the steps and they added a much bigger drain. We loved how it came out!"

"I highly recommend J.G.J they are professionals, polite, and very reasonable. They totally understand what they are doing. Luis and his crew are great people who does the job well. Whatever I asked them to do they were on the top of it. The job came out nice and clean and we are able to enjoy the backyard now. Their offer was very reasonable comparing to other contractor that came and saw the job. I had 5 contractor came and gave me offers but luis was the one I pick because of his reasonable offer. Thanks to Luis and his crew, God bless them all. Highly recommend."

Customers say: Quality work

"Steve Tart (the son from Steve and Sons) returned my initial call quickly and came out to give me an estimate as requested. I was on a tight time frame because I am leaving the area and wanted to take care of this work beforehand so I won't have to worry. Once I decided to hire him, he went out of his way to schedule my small project - replacing the horrifically leaky downspout and cleaning the gutter. He came out when he promised, with all the required materials and tools. My dow spout is now complete and the work was done beautifully! I'm actually hoping for a storm so I can "see" how well it works! Steve is personable, easy to work with, and does great work. I couldn't ask for more! He is now officially my go to guy for any future work or any issues that crop up."

"They repointed the brick on the rear of our 3 story house. I saw them doing a job on a neighbor's house, walked over and started talked to Abedin. He came over right away, walked through the job and gave us an estimate. They were able to fit the job in later that week. They arrived on time each day and cleaned up at the end of each day. the job took 3 days rather than the estimated 2 days, but they stuck to the original price quote and the extended time did not inconvinence us so it wasn't a big deal to me. Abedin had two guys working on the job and they were friendly and courteous. Abedin did not spend the entire time on the job site himself but came by frequently enough that I was satisfied and found I had ample opportunity to speak with the boss throughout the job. At the end of each day I climbed our fire escape and hung off the edge of our roof to inspect the work. I found spots that they missed in the repointing. I showed the spots out to Abedin and he instructed the guys to attend to those spots and they did. Sure, I would have preferred to find no missed spots, but Abedin visited the jobsite and listened to me and followed up with his guys to make sure those spots were pointed. Abedin was friendly about it and didn't have an attitude. Overall I think his price was very fair. He and his crew were friendly and had no attitude."

FAQs for concrete patios, walks & steps installation projects in Bronx, NY

Most sidewalks rely on a ready‑mix blend of Portland cement, sand, gravel, and water that trucks deliver to your site and pour in one continuous lift. For added strength, many contractors fold in fiber mesh or steel reinforcement. This mix cures into a rock‑solid slab that stands up to foot traffic, freeze‑thaw cycles, and daily wear for decades. Expect a pro to recommend a 4‑inch‑thick pour for standard walkways.

With the right mix, proper drainage, and routine upkeep, a concrete sidewalk can last 25 to 50 years. Freeze‑thaw cycles, road salt, and heavy loads all shorten that timeline, but sealing every few years and patching small cracks early keeps damage in check. Think of sealing as inexpensive insurance for decades of safe, stable footing. In milder climates, some slabs push well past the 30‑year mark without major repairs.

Concrete sidewalks crack as a result of significant temperature fluctuations and heavy load pressures. The freeze-thaw cycles and sustained weight from vehicles or intense foot traffic force the concrete to develop cracks over time. Applying a premium sealant every two to three years and substituting salt with sand for de-icing minimizes crack formation. Regular maintenance and timely repairs safeguard the sidewalk’s structural integrity and extend its service life.
