"Dan and his crew were excellent. The price was reasonable. Their work was fast, and neat and done incredibly well. We had new plumbing fixtures installed on our shower and a new toilet installed. They were punctual, and professional. I felt like I didn't have to hide my valuables while they were working in my home! Upon completion of the job, they removed all the debris and left the area spotless. I would definitely use them again."

Customers say: Quick response

"Pros: he was on time, easy to schedule, and was able to install new dimmer switches, which are working well! But he didn't read the packages for compatibility, ended up swapping the units and had to swap them back after puzzling for 30 min to get the full setup. It ended up costing 2 hrs for what probably should have been a 40 min job. Also, after he left I noticed the walls around the switches were scuffed up and it took a few min with a magic eraser to clean up."

"The Arta team is fantastic. They were on schedule every single day of our 3 month renovation (we brought the entire interior of the upstairs down to the studs). Their specific attention to detail left me confident at the end of every day that things would be done correctly and on schedule. We installed really high end furniture, fixtures and materials which they treated with care."

"Very nice and polite. The city is doing a lot of work and gave us brown water. We went with a sediment filter, then had him come back and also install a carbon filter system after researching city tap water. Once the water heater goes I will have him replace it and put a charcoal filter on the hot water side too."

"Tony replaced a leaky pipe in my ceiling. He absolutely was so kind, professional, and efficient. The whole job only took a few hours and they cleaned up very well when they left. If you need and work done, I’d definitely call them immediately!"

"I am a property manager responsible for numerous buildings and call on many vendors. Waxtel is one of my "go-to" contractors for work ranging from the installation of doors to the fabrication of a rooftop deck. The two principals are accessible, responsive and they back up their work, at a reasonable price. I have been pleased with the quality of their work. If there is a warranty issue, however, they come back without hesitation. They also do not oversell - they recommend whatever is necessary to get the job done, even if it diminishes their scope of work."

"They did a great job repairing a pipeline for an outside garden hose line. Replaced valves for washing machine and replaced an old faucet system for a shower. Since the wall had to be opened, they replaced wall tiles from extras I had and did a good job. All I had to do was apply grout at my own time. I would hire them again."

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Brooklyn, NY

You should regrout tile every 10 to 15 years, provided it is well-maintained with regular cleaning and sealing. Over time, grout can deteriorate due to exposure to moisture, foot traffic, and the use of cleaning agents. If you start to see cracks, discoloration, crumbling grout, or loose tiles, it’s a sign that regrouting is needed sooner.

The most effective way to clean grout involves a combination of powerful cleaning agents and the right tools. Using a dedicated grout brush intensifies the cleaning process, ensuring a deep clean. Create a powerful homemade solution by mixing baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap to break down deeply embedded dirt. After cleaning, reseal the grout to lock in protection and maintain its appearance.

You can't regrout tile without removing the existing grout and expect good, long-lasting results. You must replace the old grout when it begins to crumble and fail. New grout cannot properly adhere to existing grout, meaning moisture will still reach the damaged layer and cause additional water damage, which will be more costly to deal with in the long run.

Visible indicators, such as cracks, stains, chipping, and mold growth, signal that your grout is compromised and no longer maintains its bonding strength. If you notice these issues, cleaning alone won't restore the grout's integrity. In such cases, consider complete or partial regrouting to preserve your surfaces and prevent further damage.
