"I can't say enough good things about Focus Pest Management. They handle both our quarterly pest control and our lawn care (fertilization/weed treatment every other month, annual aeration and re-seeding). John is very thorough -- he is happy to look over any areas of concern with me and answers any questions I have. He's been handling our pest control for two years now, and there have been a couple times we spotted bugs in the house (to be expected based on where we live), and he came back out to re-treat, no questions asked, no charge for the visit. He also has taken our lawn from virtually all weeds to luscious and green in that same time -- our neighbors now joke that we are trying to start a golf course. His rates are very reasonable (actually less than what we were paying for a larger pest control company, especially when you factor in that Focus covers more pests and re-treats for free). John always asks for our feedback and is always looking to provide the best service possible. He's very polite, and I feel that he is very honest and concerned about his clients' satisfaction. I would highly recommend him to anyone."

"We've had quarterly appointments from ATA for about a year now. Though our bug problem has gotten better, we've still had bugs the entire time. We have begun trying other exterminators to see if they can finally eradicate our pests. About $89 per quarter."

"I found only one helpful review on Angie's List, but that was one more than anyone else had for this particular service. Previously I had asked my pest control company to get rid of the honey bees and their hive, so they sent someone several times to get up on a ladder and spray pesticide. It never made any difference, and I learned later that it's a good thing that didn't work.
Brian Haley showed up on time with lots of equipment. I had spoken to him by telephone to schedule the work, and I sent him pictures by email. I questioned whether he could do the job at that height, so we had a backup plan starting from inside a second floor bedroom, which turned out fortunately not to be necessary. He told me he would use some kind of thermal detection to locate the hive precisely since it could not be seen from outside.
Brian explained everything to me, and I appreciated the education. He informed me that if the pest control folks had managed to kill all the bees, the wax in the hive would have melted causing wax and honey to drip down inside the wall, causing who knows what kind of problems over time. In fact, there is a good chance the hive would have been abandoned eventually by the bees leading to the same result even if I had left it undisturbed. Obviously, Brian knew what he was doing. There is a shortage of honey bees and they perform an important function and not just honey production, pollinating stuff that needs to be pollinated (but my education goes no further as to exactly why or what). So Brian saves the bees and the hive, transplanting it to another location.
Brian spent most of the time up on that ladder two stories above sloping ground, first removing a piece of the soffit, then vacuuming bees into his custom built cages and then removing the honeyed hive itself, piece by dripping piece. The hive was huge and it looked like it contained thousands of bees, maybe more than 10,000 according to Brian. I don't have the courage even to change a light bulb on a ladder not quite that high, much less work all day with heavy electrical equipment at that height.
It turned out to be a painstaking, all-day job, taking much longer than Brian anticipated because of the size of the hive.
Brian Haley is a real professional. It’s not often or for everyone that such a problem presents itself, but if it ever does Brian is your man.

UPDATE (4/27/13): The high-quality photos Brian took for me, of the hive he removed, have made their way to an acquaintance of mine who lives in Brooklyn. They inspired him to install two hives of his own on his rooftop."

"I began hearing scratching in the wall of the bedroom and continued to hear it for four or five days. It occurred most often in the early morning and at night. I was then away for four days. When I returned, I could smell the dead animal in the wall. When I went to bed, I had to spray the room heavily with deodorizers. I called Matt Hawkins at A+ Wildlife Control before I left, and he agreed to come when I returned. He was very responsive and willing to work with my schedule. The first time I could be at the house after my trip long enough for him to do the work, he came. He called because he was going to be 15 minutes late. (He had called several times earlier as we were trying to make an appointment to let me know where he was and that he couldn't finish the job he was doingin time to get to me.) I really appreciate a workman who considers my schedule as well as his own.
He arrived on time and went right to work. He moved some furniture and was very careful not to break anything that was on top of a dresser. He asked for a garbage bag to put on the floor where he was going to drill the hole for his tiny little camera, so there would be no mess to clean up. I had envisioned a hole about a foot square, but he put his little camera through a hole about 1/2" in diameter. He located the dead mouse immediately. He drilled a hole 2 1/2" x 3 1/4", put on a glove and put his hand through the wall and lifted out the dead mouse. He wrapped up the mouse, the dust from drilling the hole, and the used glove and disposed of it. He said in about 24 hours the smell would dissipate. (It was somewhat better in an hour!)
Then Matt climbed up in my attic and searched it thoroughly. He determined that this mouse had been up there, but there weren't signs of other animal activitiy. He went under the house and found a nest with an adult and two babies. He actually caught them with his hands (he said he'd never done that before) and put them in a milk jug to take away with him. He searched around under the house and didn't see signs of other animals there.
Matt walked all around the house, checking for tree limbs that might be touching the roof where mice could get in, and he checked behind all the shrubbery and plants around the foundation for openings (and I have a lot of plants). He made good suggestions about preventive measures to take to try to keep other mice from coming into the house through the attic or crawl space.
Matt is a pleasant person to deal with. He is very neat and clean in his work. I aprpeciate his promptness and his consdieration in letting me know when he will be late. I will willingly call him again if I have other animal removal needs.

"I reached out to them on Tuesday and spoke with their office staff to see what they offered. The office staff walked me through all of the choices and was so helpful in picking out a service. We have several pets so their green option was exactly what we needed. They were able to have someone to our home on Friday and they were exactly on time. They took their time examining our property and explained their findings and how they were going to treat it. After completing their work they circled back with us and explained what we could expect over the next two weeks. they also answered all of our questions and went over the treatment plan for the next few months.
I have used many exterminators over the years but Northwest Exterminating is by far the most customer friendly company we have seen. We can definitely say they have us as a customer for life!

"It's not your usual pests, ants and bugs. They consider squirrels to be wildlife. They also have exterminating.  We just don't use them for their exterminating service.  We had flying squirrels and all that, running around the attic.  They were very good.  I would give them A's across the board for their services.  I would use them again if squirrels got back in. "
