"Great husband and wife team, very nice people. They completed the work per the estimate. The only thing not up to my expectations was their follow through in getting back to me. First with the estimate, which came 2 days after I was told I would have it. and after the work on my sliding door was finished, they were supposed to get back to me on whether or not they could find new wheels for the door. They said I should hear the next day, it's been over a month and I never heard back from them."

"I purchased this home in Dec. I noticed there was water pooling on the patio, so asked for bids for mud Jacking. Toro construction responded and came out right away. Not even sure if they do mud jacking. They convinced me that I need to replace those sections of concrete and so I added a few other sections that were cracked etc. I paid them 2000 to start the project. They gave me a copy job estimate but never a contract. They were to start on Monday but I called them and texted, on the Thursday before, asking them to come back and requote the project, because when I moved all my plants etc. there was another cracked section. They did not respond to my messages. I finally left one that said do not have your men show up until we discuss the project. They didn’t show up on Monday, she finally texted saying she was in a meeting. They came and tore out part of the patio, that week but said they had other jobs scheduled and were at the mercy of the concrete company to schedule my project. They wanted to come and do some work on Saturday but I would not be home so I said Sunday, she agreed on Sunday. But they were a no show again, she decided that they should not work on Sunday. They did the pour the following week and I discussed with their worker that the two sections were not acceptable. One had a bad patch job and the other had a large divot where it still held water. Other areas had divots but this one you could see from looking at it. I paid him 2900 on the day they poured because he said he had to pay his workers. I told him what I wanted fixed and he agreed to come on Saturday and repair. I would think he could communicate this to the office manager who is his wife. This was another no show day. Then I get a text from their office manager: “Good afternoon. Your lack of response to my messages and emails as well as the past due balance has left me no other option but to pursue a lien on property. Please respond by end of day.” She had not even come out to look at the work completed to see the quality of work. I had discussed everything with the boss on the site and he agreed to fix it. She needed to come out and talk to me. I then texted her with pictures of the two areas, and my complaints and stated that if she put a lien on my property before looking at the project I would sue. She then got belligerent and said that I was abusive and yelling at the guys on the jobsite, which is not true, I just stated the facts to them. Instead of coming herself she sent the second in command worker who agreed it was bad, this was on the 9th of May. He said they would come on Monday. I texted on Monday after a no show, I texted her again, she said between 10-12, I texted again at 12, a no show. On the 15th I asked when it was scheduled, she said she would let me know. She said that I have continually threatened the workers and herself. Which is not true. I pointed out that she was the one that said she was going to put a lien on my property. She said this was a threatening comment to her. “She felt that my areas of concern don’t actually rise to the level of replacement.” Then in her next text she says “Yes project needs change” and noted that she was just informing me of lien potential. But that is not what she said. She noted in this text that the concrete needs to be sealed to achieve a more cohesive finish, that was not mentioned before. Only that I need to seal. They did provide the name of the sealer they use. She noted that they can’t guarantee the work that I perform. When they redid the 2 sections they look worse than they did the first time. It was like the concrete was too dry and it is crumbly around the edges, the corners are falling out etc. They left the concrete residue on my yard, they left the concrete residue in the track that is there to drain the water. I should not have to clean that up. He came back and looked at it when I was not at home, but his comment is that he is done and it needs to be sealed. I am not willing to seal it at this point. Once I do, the concrete is mine. It is a bad representation of what quality concrete should look like. When it rained the other day you could see the new sections were white compared to the rest of the patio. The rest of the new concrete he treated with an acid wash, the last repair he did not. Not sure if this is why it is white. I will attach photos to show the issue.."

"Spoke with Wes about potential project, and our special interest in retractable walls. He was very straight-forward and clear about things that go into overall cost of sunroom (size, height, type of glass, doors, windows, glass to floor or pony wall, all walls plus roof of glass, or part traditional materials) plus 2-3'footers under all walls of the structure, and addition by HVAC for heat and dehumidification. Their sunrooms are efficient enough to take down an exterior wall of the house, and have the sunroom serve as the exterior wall. Others that have low energy efficiency by WA laws must maintain a door between house and sunroom. Ballpark estimate was provided and noted that a crane may be required to life beams in place. Global Solariums in Vancouver, WA manufactures the sunrooms, and Wes speaks highly of the engineer that reviews the design plans. I was very impressed with his clarity and concern that I have a good understanding of likely cost and why. We agreed that I would contact him if and when we are ready for a site visit, which we will do if we decide to proceed. At this point, the cost is too high for us to proceed. (ballpark est. $100K-with 76K for sunroom at past year's average cost per square foot of roughly 170/sf ($120/sf and higher than $170/sf which again varies by the list provided), plus 24K for HVAC and concrete. "1) Trish (TNT owner) came to our home and reviewed deck state and confirmed structural integrity and provided railing replacement options. It was clear that Trish was very experienced in deck stuff and her verbal input was helpful to us as homeowners to confirm what needed fixing on our deck (and what was ok with our deck) 2) bid provided via email. We accepted bid and worked with a job scheduler to get job start date. 3) crew showed up on time and was easy to work with. The job took a few weeks and we had a few refinements during the process which crew adapted to nicely. 4) price was not cheap, but I felt the quality of work provided was well worth the price. Good value for due to high quality outcome from experienced workers. I did get the feeling that crew was building our deck railing as if they were building their own deck railing at their home. 5) Good follow up after job completion by owners. 6) I fully recommend TNT as a high quality, reputable contracting company who do things the right way."

"Excellent experience. We knew up front what decking material we wanted, as we had used it on an indoor swim spa surround. We also knew we wanted a smaller deck -- the old one was an L shape and we wanted to eliminate the smaller arm but keep the size of the main portion. The demo went well. There were several very large pieces of rock/concrete forming part of a waterfall that started by the deck -- I dismantled the waterfall and ponds but the rocks were huge and Backyard broke them up and hauled them away for us. After removal of the old material, they quickly built a new frame for the deck. There was a short delay while awaiting delivery of the Fiberon deck boards. In the meantime, we had discussed options to improve the ugly concrete pad by the deck and Derril suggested some pavers to cover the concrete. We liked that and decided to add that to the project. We had originally been thinking about a (faux) stone wall as skirting for the deck but that would have increased the cost quite a bit. Derril suggsted some vertical boards (essentially fence boards) which we decided to go with as an interim solution. They turned out to look great -- and added only $200 to the total cost -- and I think we will just stay with the wood skirt rather than changing to stone. The new decking went on in just a bit over a day. We then waited a couple of weeks for the new Clearview aluminum railings. Those showed up yesterday and were installed today and the new deck with adjacent paver patio looks fantastic. We are very pleased with how it all turned out. Derril and his crew were a pleasure to deal with. One measure of a company is how they handle emergent problems. We had one: During the deck demo they hit a cable going to the heat pump, tripping a breaker, etc. Fortunately, the weather was not extreme and losing the pump for a day or two was not a problem; we were relaxed about the issue and Backyard was most apologetic and got an electrician out to fix the line."
