"Pest Management technician Jermaine Holmes came to my house on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at the scheduled time to deal with an infestation of mice and carpenter ants. He was very thorough, both inside the house, including the basement and the attached garage, and all around the house's exterior. When he finished, he told me these pests should be gone within 24 hours. He was right; they were gone. I waited three days, however, to make sure the mice and ants were truly gone before writing this review today, August 10. They are indeed truly gone, and I'm most grateful to Mr. Holmes and to Pest Management for their efficiency and their professionalism. "We awoke to find a bat flying around in our bedroom and after looking into it realized this was likely the result of bats getting into the attic -- which can be a dangerous thing. We called several different services. One, which is a heavy advertiser in the area, gave us an estimate that was horribly inflated, which we of course rejected. I am not quite sure what the deal is with United, but it seems to be some sort of group, since the person we dealt with operates under an independent name. However, that is not a drawback -- we called United and got an immediate response, and it is always a nice thing to deal with an directly pay the person who actually does the work. We got a quick response, the guy was clearly expert at what he was doing, and he took care of the problem immediately. The process is a several stage one -- first, look around and confirm there are bats - fortunately we did not have many. Second, he put in one-way doors so the bats would leave (which they do every night) but not be able to get back in. With a high and steep roof, this was not so easy, but he did it with no problems. Then after about a week he came back and plugged up the holes that the bats would be able to get back in through. A nice bonus is that he also identified a few small holes that would let water in, and patched those as well. Finally, he is in the process of returning now that the weather is cooler to use a cold weather patch compound to do some cosmetic patching . We are very happy with the results and the professionalism. Only slight quibble is that they wanted payment upfront, while typically the best contractors want payment when they are all done. But I can understand that since they charge a fairly modest price and are in a service area where people are desperate to get the job done, they might otherwise get hit with a lot of no-pays. Since they got the job done, I have no complaints about having paid upfront."
