"Beware of shipping issues with this company. Ordered an ice maker installation kit on 10/10/25. Shipping was due no later than 10/20 according to company and FedEx tracking. FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. There was a deadline for installing this part before tenants arrive. They did not care, would not m"

"Unable to Diagnose Electrolux Oven Problem, but Charged $178 for it Anyway We called One Source to look at a 10-year-old Electrolux ICON wall oven that was not heating. A technician came out and was baffled by this "Canadian" oven (Thousands of Electrolux ICON ovens, manufactured in Canada, were sold in the U.S. before the line was folded into the main Electrolux line. Ours was purchased from the very reputable Wilkinson Supply.) He "diagnosed" a bad thermostat and said he would have to order the part and return with a second technician to do the repair. We were charged $110 for the trip/diagnostics and $68 for the part. A week later he and another tech returned (more bafflement over this strange Canadian model) They determined the thermostat was NOT the problem (and they had the wrong part anyway). At this point, they told my husband they just couldn't diagnose this rare "Canadian" oven, but it was "probably" the control board (an $800+ nonrefundable part). We opted not to take that crap shoot. Given that the problem with our oven was NOT diagnosed, and the part was NOT even the correct part, I requested a partial refund of the $178 we had paid for the WRONG part and NO diagnosis. They refused any refund. So we got NOTHING -- no correct diagnostics, no repair -- for our $178."

"Repair Clinic sent me a water intake valve that had some scuff marks and an unnecessary fixture (which I thought nothing of, assuming it had been removed from a new dishwasher). When the part did not fix my dishwasher's issue, I ordered a circulation pump, which also failed to fix the issue, so I decided to return both parts. Repair Clinic blamed me for the scuff marks and extra fixture, which is unacceptable. They referenced their return policy which states that parts which have been installed cannot be returned, and denied me any form of refund. For all I know, the water intake valve was defective, and I have no recourse. Don't put any stock in the "No-Hassle 365-Day Returns" they proudly tout on their homepage. Instead, expect finger-pointing and uncaring dismissal. You are better off with one of their many competitors."

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Dunn, NC

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
