The owner offered to have my carpet cleaned and refunded me $50 for my trouble. Very nice guys and they did a great job. The owner even explained what I needed to do to convert my fireplace myself so I wouldn't have to pay to have it done. I recommend them and will use them every time I need my chimneys swept."

"Contacted Baker Roofing by phone to schedule a visit for an insurance paid re-roof. Salesman, David Frawley, responded promptly. He met with us, provided a detailed scope of work based on the insurance information that we had previously provided to him. We set up a tentative time frame for the start of the work. Due to weather, we had a few restarts but the Project Manager, Mark Chasse, was on top of it and kept us up-to-date and stayed in touch. He called to discuss where the shingles, the dumpster, and the work trailer could be staged during the time they would be at out house. Mark was on the job for most of the install.The installers worked hard and were focused. No nonsense or fooling around with this team. We had bushes and expenses trees, propane tanks and 3 large A/C units around the perimeter of the house. Baker made sure that nothing was damaged. They walked the perimeter with a giant magnet for nails, picked up trash and left at dusk. I requested they return the next day in the daylight to pick up some remaining trash and nails, which they willingly did. The gutter installer was scheduled by Baker and he returned on Monday to complete the job with the gutters. They did a beautiful job. We were very happy from the beginning contacts with David  all the way to the end with Mark Chasse. Great Company, stands by their work. Granted, this was an insurance job, but we interviewed several roofers. This company hand nails your roof. Even the employees tout how happy they are working at Baker.  We would wholeheartedly recommend Baker Roofing to others. It was important to us to have a local roofer in case of any issues or concerns and Baker came highly recommended. We are so very glad we chose them. Let me also say that everyone that I spoke with on the phone whose names I can't recall were all very nice. Customer Service was A+. Their motto "to always do good work, at a profit if we can, at a loss if we must, but always good work"is why they've been in business so long. Thank you, Baker Roofing. <br />"

"A bird was removed from our vent and also its nest. We were so impressed with the service, the technician, the price, the promptness that we scheduled the same company to do insect control. The technician who did that was just as courteous as the one who removed the bird, just as prompt, and the price is just as fair. I would recommend them to anyone for either service."

"We went by gentleman's agreement on the repairs we wanted done on our chimney, and paid for those services before all of them were completed. That's our fault for not negotiating a pay plan that motivated the service provider to complete all the work. <br /> That said, we are very upset with the chimney sweep because the work we agreed to have done has not yet been complete. Upon initial inspection of the chimney, it was found that the chimney was sealed and not functional. We had him repair the chimney to actually draw smoke out of the house should we want to use the fireplace (the ceiling of the entire house had to be repainted because the original chimney didn't draw). Once that was done, we had him install a cap on the chimney that would open and close. We also had him repair the seals on the chimney so it wouldn't leak into the roof. We had agreed to have stabilizing bolts installed in the fireplace facade, but it's been over 6 months and he still hasn't finished the installation. Every time I contact the service provider, it's been one excuse after another about why he can't make it out. I understand having a terrible run of luck, but after 6 months, it's getting ridiculous. I've been polite and professional, but this is absolutely unacceptable to have paid for a repair and not have it completed. I will revisit this review if the chimney sweep contacts us to finish the repairs to our chimney. <br /> Worst part is, I've recommended him to several people, and now I regret the recommendations because he has not been able to finish the work on our chimney, If I had to do it over again, I'd get an invoice, contract, and payment plan for the work we wanted done of the chimney so we had a paper trail to follow up with the service provider. <br /> <br /> UPDATE: 2/20/2016 - service provided has contacted me after seeing this review, and we have negotiated a partial refund for the work that was not completed (installation of bolts, reattachment of gas logs). Refund check has cleared, review has been updated. I'm grateful that the review on Angie's List was able to facilitate a happy ending to this transaction. I would definitely recommend this service provider for simpler jobs, such as chimney inspections and chimney cleanings."

"I wasn't really happy with the service.  They hired someone else to do our roof.  I actually wanted the roofer that worked for the company to do the work. Three or four months later we had a wind storm and it knocked three or four shingles off. I called Mark and he came back out to fix it. We had a communication problem in the beginning but since have worked on the issue."

"The estimators that came out reviewed the roof and found a couple spots where they said the shingles needed replacing and where the two had blown off in the wind. Both of the men who came out were afraid of heights. One was afraid to climb the ladder, the other climbed the ladder and was afraid to come back down. He jumped from the upper roof to our sunroom roof. I was truly shocked. I do not believe that is a safe practice at all. As he hit the sunroom roof his momentum almost carried him off that roof. When I questioned him about it, he said he could see where the support was for the roof and he jumped on that. He could have been severely injured and he could have severely damaged the sunroom roof. The actual installers who came out were up and down within 20 minutes and showed me pictures of what they did. The were late, but the job was finished as promised by the date they said it would be. There is a standard fee to just get them to come out to replace the shingles ($595 - I had a coupon to get it to $495). One hundred dollars a shingle. I need to change my career."

"We just had our 3 story house resided with hardiplank by DHConstruction. Brian Howell was the person who we interacted with and who you want to make sure to deal with. He was excellent, carefully explaining everything, identifying additional problems found, and making the pricing and payment easy to understand. He was in constant contact so we always knew what was happening and being planned. <br /> <br />DH Construction was not the lowest bid we received. However, it was easily the best choice given the excellent job they did. They use superior materials, including paint and wrapping the house in rainguard to let the house breathe while keeping moisture out. The work was top notch and the house looks great. We found the usual facia that needs to be replaced and a rotten window frame and base sill of the house. All taken care of by Brian and his crew (at extra cost of course). We didn't have to call any other contractors, including people to replace the gutters. They even blind nailed the siding where ever we didn't have 2x4 crowning problems due to the house's original construction. <br /> <br />If you want to go with the lowest bid somewhere else, watch out for one layer of inexpensive paint, little prep and priming, schedule delays, extra cost for electrical connections, confusing billing, face nailing everything, not wrapping the house in rainguard, higher cost to replace rotten wood, poor workmanship and shoddy cleanup. You get what you pay for. <br /> <br />We highly recommend Brian Howell and D H Construction. <br />"
