"Furnace being used early in season and noticed a "weird noise" that continued to get worse over a couple days.  Great service scheduled the same day as we called.  Diagnosed problem and had to go back to shop for part but was back within an hour or so and all was well.  C & K is great to work with; technicians and shop staff always courteous and helpful.  Often going above and beyond the norm.  We use them for seasonal service as well - checking heating equipment in early Fall and air conditioning in early Spring.  Those checkups can't catch everything of course such as the recent furnace issue, but it's great to know our equipment is checked and ready for upcoming season.  Their prices are competitive as well.  We are very pleased."

The phone contact person was pleasant and responsive. They sent plumber out with 4 hours after I called. That was good. He attempted to "snake" the drain and attempted to use a plunger (mine) none of which worked. I have an inexpensive plunger. He didn't have one on his truck. Strange for a plumber not to have a basic piece of equipment like a plunger. In any event he said I needed to have the drain cleaned and another plumber for Golden Rule would have to do that. $100.00 for this service call. Fortunately they had the drain cleaning guy available  that afternoon. His name was BO and he was great! Very informative and he payed attention to the possibility of something else may be going on  other then cleaning the drain Much more experienced then the first plumber. He said before, I clean the whole drain (600.00) Lets try plunging it with my plunger. A much better one then mine. After 2 min of using his plunger it flushed immediately. Another 100.00 service call. So in the end I got double charged (200.00) for something that should have been solved with the first service call. Not about the money, it's the principle of the transaction. Will, I use them again? Possibly, but only because of BO. I have purchased 2 plungers, as recommended by brand by BO. There is a difference in plunger's for your info.

"The plumber provided an estimate to do work related to having new countertops installed. While at our house we mentioned a problem of a wet basement ceiling which we though was rain water seeping in. He soon found that an improperly installed kitchen drainage pipe had slipped and major water was pouring into the wall every time the sink was used. His diagnosis was well timed as he had to cut the old kitchen counter in order to remove the lazy susan and get to the outside wall where the faulty pipe was located. Shortly afterward the granite countertops we had ordered were installed. All is well. We have since used this business for other work."
