"I have rain water undermining the driveway near my attached garage. I reasoned that pumping a supporting substance would not only fill in the "undermined soil", the substance forced in under pressure would also support the concrete driveway. The inspector informed me that my theory would not work and that what I needed was pea gravel inserted into the hole created by the drainage. He seemed quite competent and I accepted his assessment. It was refreshing to have a candid answer rather than "we can do it" even though the attempt would not have solved my issue"

"Over-all the installation day went well - the crew was on time, prompt and very efficient. They installed the sump pump drain line without my knowledge and installed it over the property line. When my neighbor needed to install a fence, it took moths, multiple calls and finally threat of legal action to get them to come out and move the drain (which they promised to do at time of installation). The re-positioned drain work was so shoddy that I now have the drain sticking out of the ground and not properly draining; I will be calling them back again. It also took weeks and multiple calls to finally get the promised inspector documentation, which was then left in the crawl space without any notification."

"After waking up to no water and making sure it wasn't a breaker issue, I began calling plumbers.  My go to guy Kevin Jones was out of town and I needed to guarantee I could get this fixed ASAP.  After learning that the companies I called were busy and couldn't guarantee they could get to me, I finally came across Bill's Well and Drilling and when they looked up my property, it turns out they were the folks who put the well in!  Anyway, they came out within two hours, diagnosed the issue (wiring worn through) and replaced the whole length of wire.  I am always leary of being taken for a ride when it comes to house/car issues...but after my experience with this company, I can add them to the "trust" list.  I got the invoice expecting some awful expense and what a relief.  The invoice was itemized and their charges were extremely reasonable.  If I ever need well/pump work, they are who I will call and have already recommended them to a friend building his own house."

"It went great. Asked Coffman's to contact my tenant to  schedule a time to come out and take a look at leaking hot water heater. Showed up at scheduled time, called and gave me a quote to replace the hot water heater. Tenant noted that personnel were very courteous and professional. Great experience, no complaints!!!! <br />"

"James Blandford knows how to do business. I first hired him to close the pool, but he noticed a couple things wrong (which he took the time to show me and explain everything to me). After the parts came in, he fixed them. I ordered a new liner with him. He definitely looks out for the best interest of the customer, which is how all businesses should be. He's very friendly and always makes sure any questions you have are answered. I will be using him for all of my pool needs. <br />"

"Service Experts (Raleigh?) has provided HVAC services for my home since about 2002. They responded and fixed my A/C and offered a maintenance program which has provided needed solutions over the years. SE has replaced one of my units, repaired/replaced boards, replaced capacitors, motors, blowers, exchanges, etc. SE has provided service and maintenance on my recommendation to college mentor, parents and in-laws. However recent years have shown a noted change in their process and my (and spouces) faith in their service is faltering. I understand the challenges of growth and excuse the limited knowledge of newly qualified or techs in training. I've continued to lose trust as the techs role has moved to be more sales than diagnostic. I can't ask my mother to accept the repairman as they are likely to accept charge for fees which are included with maintnenace or agree to an uneccessary repair. A tech confessed that they are expected to close a certain number of sales "add-ons" and are pressured to meet those goals. (This cannot be confirmed but aligns with observed changes. ) I continue to fail to value their serviceand question, the validity of SE tech opinions and quotes. I'm re-evaluating my use of Service Experts for my homes checking to see who Angie might suggest."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Fort Bragg, NC

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
