"They let me know what the plan was as they started on each part of the project. This allowed me to make minor modifications as I better understood their plan. Since I was able to make changes that better suited me as we went along, I am obviously much happier with the results. The owner and all three electricians that I encountered were Real Professionals, an exceedingly rare thing today. The price was not a cheap bid, but was priced fairly. I plan to have them back for some additional work as I remodel my 50 year old house."

"Chad from Ready Electric did an excellent job installing our EV charger. He was professional, knowledgeable, and neat, and his communication was clear and concise throughout the process. The installation looks great, worked perfectly on the first try, and was completed on time and at a fair price. I highly recommend Chad to anyone looking to add an EV charger or upgrade their home electrical system."

"Baker Brothers staff was outstanding. Lauren did a great job answering all my questions and worked with me to set up the best solution for water heater replacement. Dawlton arrived on time and was professional, quick and provided pics of installation in addition to electric invoice. Love they are able to provide link for mobile payments. Highly recommended."

"I have had him do small repairs and he did a great job, but this time he wanted to use aluminium wire and I don't like that kind of wire, it breaks down after a few years."

FAQs for electrical for home addition or remodel installation projects in Gainesville, TX

There are several telltale signs that your home is due for an electrical upgrade. You may need to rewire your house if your lights are constantly flickering or your circuit breaker keeps tripping. If you feel mild electric shocks when you touch light switches, hear buzzing sounds, or notice burning smells, you may need to rewire your house, too. Discolored or burnt-looking switches and faceplates are another crucial warning sign.

Properly installed copper wiring in a residential property can last as long as 50 to 100 years in some cases, but many homes over 30 years old are due for an upgrade. That’s the timeline that many experts recommend, even if it is only a partial update to accommodate technological advancements, increased power demands, and changing safety requirements.

At $3 to $5 per square foot, the cost to wire a 2,000-square-foot house ranges from $6,000 to $10,000, on average. This can depend on many factors, like the age and complexity of the house and how easy it is for contractors to access the areas they need to get the job done. Opening and repairing walls can further add to your total cost.
