"Early Saturday evening we lost water. I called our regular well company immediately but did not receive a return call. I understand, not everyone wants to work on the weekend but by 5:45 AM Sunday AM we were fairly miserable. Carrying water from the swimming pool over hardwood floors in order to refill toilets is not my idea of fun. I put in a call on a Sunday morning a bit after 7:30 AM to Bay Area Pump and Wesley texted back almost immediately. He asked if between 10:00 - 10:30 AM was ok (I was thrilled) and was at our house at 10:00 AM. The problem was ants had gotten in the well's electric box. I asked if we should have the well serviced regularly and he said no, just spray to keep the ants down. Wow, someone who responds quickly, is punctual, works on a Sunday morning for a fair cost AND doesn't try to sell us a service policy! Water restored, my husband and I are delighted and highly recommend Wesley and Bay Area Pump."

"I was very pleased with their plumbing work. They replaced all my water pipes and installed a new hot water tank. They knew what they were doing every step along the way. There was no obstacle they couldn't overcome . And they give you what you need. They made sure all work was done to plumbing code. After finishing up , they cleaned up the whole work area. I got them on my speed dial."

"I was given a reasonable quote to have a leak repaid. I also decided to have a water heater replaced at the same time. Had several quotes but went with Cass as they were reasonable and gave me options. Lui was very professional. Knew exactly what needed to be done. Completed the work in a reasonable time. He kept me informed during the process and also insured that the leak and water heater were replaced and repaired to my satisfaction before leaving. I would definitely recommend this company for plumbing concerns."

"Company review for local business-- This time: Ants short-circuited well pump switch & needed replacement (Last time a long while back: We moved in to house and needed a pump installed to existing well.) RESULTS: Both times, Billy Clark (and sometimes his crew, as needed) were fast, knowledgeable, honest, and-- to prove that last part-- reasonably priced. Both times their installation (Last time) and replacement (This time) worked just fine. Last time, power company had power surges due to bad grounding which caused unequal loading issues, and paid for replacement, but Billy and crew made good at very reasonable rates, and both service calls (Both for the new well hookup and this recent call) were fast, effective, courteous, and reasonably priced: AND-- MOST-IMPORTANTLY-- worked just fine (other than the power surge-- which was NOT well company's fault). I know enough about wells and electrical & mechanical things to know that they treated us fairly. Yeah, I'm glad to write a review for good techs. Would use again and recommend. "The services was excellent, from the time the tech arrived he was courteous and explained what needed to be done. After the repair was complete he even created a barrier around the waterline to prevent a future incident. I would absolutely recommend them and will use them again if needed."

"I have a old well and the pump quit working. I called Tampa Well Drilling and they made an arrangement to meet me at my house. James took out the old system and completely rebuilt the pump with new materials. It was a big job and they did a great job. I'm very happy with the work they did."

"Called D & C water to help with an issue with our chlorinator at a mobile home park that services 14 residents.  The company came and explained why it was not working efficiently, repiped the tank, moved the chlorinator and repaired the chlorine pump.  They have been invaluable with their knowledge of the equipment and the county requirements for maintaining water standards.

"Had issue with septic tank overflowing when heavy use such as washing multiple loads of laundry. Had 2 other septic tank companies and both immediately went to "you need to replace your drain field". No analysis or testing just straight to the $10 K to $12 K estimates. Then Jeff from Tampa Bay Plumbers came out and explained their process. The end quote for a new drain field was about 4-5 k less depending upon if we had to have a a pump also installed. That was awesome to hear in itself. But first he said that we should do the following, pump out the tank and then get to the distributor box and see if may be something was wrong there. Wow he was going to actually diagnose the problem. Refreshing. So their techs came out the next day, one pumped out the tank while the other dug around the distributor box. Low and behold the box was filled with sludge. The system is over 20 years old. He thoroughly cleaned out the box and tank of sludge and the pipes leading into the drain field. Those too had some sludge about 2 feet from the box but he was able to clear them as well. So although we suspect the drain field may need replacement in the future, we think we have a few more years before that is needed and appreciate a company who wants your business by not jumping to the most expense "fix" when it is NOT necessary. Professionalism and honesty earns them my plumbing and septic work from now on. If you are smart you will always call them to at least get a quote for any of your plumbing needs."

"The first person came to check both toilets as neither were working. Did fix the second toilet that day but could not fix the master one as he did not have a cutter to cut the limb out. Had to come back the next day. A second person came and did remove the limb but there was no guarantees on their job even if it the stoppage wasn't caused another limb. Was not too happy about the price. Paid $165 the first day with him telling me it would be another $85 unless they had to put a camera down. When I received it was $285 not $250 for the stoppage so my balance was $120 for stoppage. No camera was used but it was another $85 to reset water closet and $140 to repair flange which was not told to me the first day. Had to pay another $345."

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Gibsonton, FL

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
