"This is the second time we've hired Gentry Construction for projects. They're very busy and couldn't promise to finish until the end of summer, but they found a week in mid-July and finished in four days. Patio cover with a metal roof; re-roofing 60% of our house; front door rail. All top-quality work. Would definitely work with them again."

"Long story short, hire Raindrop Roofing NW if you have a roofing job you need done right, consistent with manufacturer’s instructions. By contrast: the outfit that replaced the roof on our Dutch Colonial for the previous owners cut corners on the steep mansard slopes. As a result, the new roof which should have lasted 25 years, started failing in three. (I’ve been repairing drooping shingles ever since and have had to learn more about roofing than I ever envisioned or desired.) A few years back we hired a local company with an Angie’s List A-rating to re-shingle the problem slopes, but we had to let them go when we caught them taking the same shortcuts that caused the first roof to fail. Their excuse: the manufacturer’s instructions were excessive. (Yet these were the same instructions they had previously agreed to follow.) It’s worth noting that roofing product warranties are almost always dependent on installation consistent with manufacturer’s instructions. Nonetheless, it took several years to find another company that would agree in writing to do so at an uninflated price. Given the above experiences, we worked closely with Raindrop and watched their work with an eagle eye. They did everything we asked for and beyond! This included making extensive improvements to the roof’s ventilation, especially in the steep mansard regions. Further, the Taylor Metal standing-seam system they applied to the garage and patio looks and functions great. Their final price was consistent with their estimate, and right where it should have been given the size of our house and the materials requested. (Unlike many of their competitors, Raindrop doesn’t gouge the homeowner for requesting standing-seam metal in addition to composite roofing.) Bottom line: next time you’re walking down a street in Portland, look for the abundant tell-tale signs of roof repairs – visible patches of replacement shingles. It’s perhaps not surprising that in this sustained building boom, quality installation at a fair price is hard to come by. I'm happy to report Raindrop is the welcome exception."

"Great roofing company and I highly recommend them! Rufus and his crew were easy to work with. Good price and prompt and courteous service. The crew cleaned up every night before they left. The roof and new skylights look great and the attic fan they added really helped reduce the room temp in our southwest facing bedroom. Will definitely use them again when the need arises."

"They did an awesome replacing my roof. They are very responsive with anything I asked about the price was very reasonable. They were fast clean and professional. They even did some repair on some of my window trim that needed to be done because of dry rot. They made sure everything was done 100% correctly. I would highly recommend them to anyone that needs a new roof or any repairs in their house. I plan on using them again next spring for some wood trim around my windows again. "

"Wanted to share the experience I just had with JLV Re-Roofing my 27 year old roof. From the time I was contacted by them to come out for a Free estimate to the time they drove the trailer away after the job was done, these guys were FIRST Class! The salesman, AR, did a fantastic job paying close attention to details that all the other companies missed during my bidding process. He pointed out things like my bathroom fan vents were going out thru my intakes and needed flapper vents installed in the roof for them. He also took note of my skylight and advised it get replaced while the roof was new. He asked about installing a roof anchor for safety to help with maintaining my roof. Little things yes, but things that are VERY important to protecting my main asset! Most of the other guys just came, took some measurements, and said I will send you a quote in a few days via email, without even asking me what I wanted in my new roof (i.e. HIGH profile ridge, what type of shingles, warranty I was looking for, etc.). One company was more interested in changing my attic ventilation all around and getting it up to the latest code, when NONE of my plywood was moldy or rotten and it is not required by law so why change what has worked for 27 years! JLV confirmed my house had adequate and equal intake and exhaust, and that we did not need to cut a bunch of new holes in the roof or eaves. That is the kind of straight up honesty you will get with JLV. The work crew was phenomenal! It took them two days to tear off and re-roof my 29 square home. During the project, the foreman would check in with me on how it was looking and if I had any questions or concerns. The crew paid attention to every detail in my quote and did an incredible job! I am one happy customer and would recommend JLV to anybody out there looking to put a new roof on their house. Don't be timid by the size of this company. They proved to me that they can go toe-to-toe with the "big boys" in this business! Thank you AR & JLV! R.D."
