"John arrived and went right to work. He worked quickly and efficiently and was done before we knew it. He took us throughout the house and explained what all he had done and how it affected our electrical layout. Plus, all of the work looked neat and tidy and the work space was left clean. Any time I need more electrical work, I’ll be calling for John."

"The replacement took a day which is good for replacing an entire system. Hiller went out of their way to get our system replaced as I have a special needs Step-Son who could end up having seizures if he gets too hot. The Hiller rep. was great and got us set up for the following day after I interviewed with him and explained our situation. He was balancing some situations but then made the decision to get our system replaced next day due to the fact we had a special needs person here. They were great in removing the old system and getting the new system in place in one day. The guys were very professional and I know how difficult it was working in the attic as I did HVAC work when I lived in South GA. long time ago. I would recommend Hiller to anyone who thinks they need a new system."

"So, they went ahead and drained the pool so they could measure it for the liner. Until the new liner came in we stopped everything and once the liner was in they would install the pump, liner and get the water to the correct chemical levels, etc. We feel that our pool is in the best shape it's ever been and feel confident they will be continuing to handle all our service needs and it will continue to be in terrific shape. Even though it is still too cool to dive in, we enjoy looking at it and look forward to enjoying it over the summer months."

"At the suggestion of the general manager and owner of American Granite and Marble in Oakland, TN (and our subsequent perusal of their reviews on “Angie’s List”), we chose Wade Plumbing Company to install our new kitchen plumbing after we had had own old kitchen and bar areas removed and replaced with new granite countertops. <br /> The work done by the plumber was outstanding, and done without delay, in minimal time and no mess. Moreover, the plumber, who was quite polite and congenial, cleaned his work sites to the point of being absolutely spotless. The stellar reviews this local small business has received are well-earned, and we would recommend their services to anyone. <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Horn Lake, MS

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
