"Roger and his team did a wonderful job installing my new deep soaker tub and surround walls, also in one day! I chose Roger as my contractor to support his small business during the COVID pandemic."

"Ron did our estimate and was great to work with, with no pressure and the best price in KC for the very same products. Nick and Tyler did the installation on our Onyx shower replacement and were very professional, Keep the area clean and picked up everything when done for the day. The shower looks amazing. It took a bit to get the job started as they are very busy but well worth the wait for a great job."

"Nathan M, Joshua T, and Brandon N were very professional and courteous. They did a wonderful job removing our old 60s tub and tiles and replacing it with a new walk-in shower. It looks absolutely beautiful! Nathan explained everything so wonderfully and we were asked for our input for placement of the bars and shelves. The great thing about our experience with West Shore and these men was that it was finished in 8 hours. Plus they called and said the had an opening and wanted to know if we would like our walk-in shower installed 2 days early! Yes please! Thank you guys for doing such a great job! They worked hard all day! I will definitely recommend you 3 men to anyone."

"The installers seemed to have done a good job. They were extremely fast, only taking one day to completely gut and install the new shower system. Although, one handrail was installed on the wrong side. To correct the issue, they came back the next day to install another free handrail on the correct side. The only complaints that I have are the shower wand sprayed black water for about 30 seconds then stopped working. I removed the wand and the water flowed properly from the pipe. I replaced the ?new? wand with my old shower head so we could use the shower. My only other complaint is that my water pressure is about half of what it was before the installation. Since I had to replace the shower head with my original one, I had a good baseline for this comparison. All in all, we?re happy with our new walk-in shower."

"We had Kyle come in and he replaced faucets, showerheads. He also replaced the handles outside on our hoses faucets. And Kyle also put in a new sump pump with a backup battery pack. He took his time and did it right no complaints. We were happy with his service."

"Wrong windows sent, ordered triple pain, double pain came in. I didn't notice & neither did the installers realize it until all the old windows had been removed. After speaking with Customer Service they offered to install the ones that came & order the triple panes or they would give a discount. The discount could have been better but CS thought I'd gotten to much of a deal already. Installers were very professional & answered all my questions & cleaned everything up nicely except for the glass panes. We will buy the remaining 8 windows we need to complete the house but only if we get a better deal!"

FAQs for shower installation and replacement projects in Kansas City, KS

Replacing your tub with a shower can modernize your bathroom and improve accessibility, often providing a high return on investment. However, if it's the only bathtub in your home, removing it may decrease resale value, as many buyers look for at least one bathtub. Consider your long-term plans and consult a real estate professional if resale value is a concern.

While showers cost slightly more to install than tubs, the overall expense depends on various factors such as materials, size, and features. A tub installation costs $2,400 to $8,800 on average, whereas showers average $2,000 to $9,400. Custom designs, luxury fixtures, or extensive plumbing work can increase costs for both options. It's important to assess your specific needs and budget when deciding between installing a shower or a tub.

Converting a tub to a shower generally takes between one and three days. The timeline depends on the complexity of the project, materials chosen, and whether plumbing modifications are necessary. Installing a standard prefabricated shower can be completed quickly, while custom tile work or extensive plumbing changes may extend the project's duration. Planning accordingly can help minimize disruptions during the conversion.

Converting a tub to a shower offers several benefits, including saving space and making your bathroom feel more open and modern. Showers improve accessibility, especially for those with mobility challenges, by eliminating the need to step over a high tub wall. Additionally, updating to a stylish shower can enhance your bathroom's aesthetic appeal and may increase your home's resale value if another tub is available elsewhere in the house.

Choosing between a shower stall and a custom shower depends on your budget and preferences. Prefabricated stalls are less expensive and faster to install but offer limited styles. Custom showers allow personalization of size, materials, and features but cost more and require professional installation. Evaluate your needs and budget to select the best option for your space.

If you’re converting a tub to a shower, you may want to consider remodeling your whole bathroom. The ROI on bathroom remodels is high (over 70%), so you can enjoy an upgraded bathroom while you live in your home and get your money back if you decide to sell later. The average cost to remodel a bathroom is around $6,600 to $16,600, so factor in this price range when you’re budgeting for your project.

Converting a tub to a shower alone isn't easy to DIY, so look for a bathroom remodeler near you if you decide to take on a larger bathroom remodel to ensure it's done correctly.
