"I have a slate roof and a rubber roof and had difficulty finding someone who could do a proper inspection with repairs. I stumbled upon Doherty Slate Roofing in Swampscott, MA. Several houses have slate roofs in our town. I have to say, he did an excellent job in repairing my rubber roof as well as the slate roof, which had missing slates and broken slates. Jason was spectacular. He also repaired the Boston Saddle hips and the flat copper roof. The work was done promptly, and the cleanup was very, very good. I am excited to write this review as we need people like Doherty to give us honest advice and understand this unique roof for repairs. Doherty took extreme care not to drop anything in the garden. The clean-up was excellent. I am ready for the winter and do not worry about leaks and ice damage from the missing slates."

"The Project was a complete success from start to finish! Elias, the Project Manager was excellent. We had a major problem with a roof that was leaking . We had several contractors come to look at the roof for estimates. Elias spent the most time of any of the contractors viewing and evaluating the roof and siding as well as the inside of the house where the water was leaking into and discussed the project with the President of Beantown. He was excellent at explaining what needed to be done. It was not your average "roof job" as the roof abutted a large chimney and the room under the roof was cold and drafty. He was very patient with me as I had many questions about the project. Janice, the Office Manager, was courteous and always available from start to finish. The roofing team was very professional and did an excellent job. They also added the appropriate insulation, new siding to the house by the roof, gutters and appropriate flashing. The roof not only looks great, but the room beneath the roof is no longer drafty and there are no leaks. His team cleaned up after the project was completed such that you wouldn't even know they were there. Elias was so professional and he even contacted us after the first rainstorm to make sure that everything was fine. The Office Manager, Janice sent the Roof Warranty to me right away. Everyone I dealt with from Johnny the roof specialist/salesman, to Katie in the office and to Steve and his install crew were very professional and provided great customer service. "These guys are fantastic! This is the second time I have used them and both experiences were excellent. Last year we had a major leak in a slanted part of our rubber roof. Fixed perfectly. No leaks again. This year we had other parts of our roof leaking (1870 house. Lots of roof pitches and types) they identified the issues, replaced two small roof areas on bays areas, replaced all the broken slate tiles and replaced very old and non-functional down spouts. "He arrived and knew what was to be repaired . It was replacing chingels on the roof . When he arrived he looked up and saw exactly the location of where the shingles came from . He's very knowledgeable! He went right to work . And was finished in no time . He did check other areas of the roof for me , thus was on the front main part of the house . I did question him that my husband had told me were going to have to have another roof done in the very near future . I had discussed this with crieg and he said no you don't. Your roof is in good condition right now , and you've still got some years to go here before that is to be done . It was a big relief to me to hear this . "A few years ago, Sprague replaced our shingle roof. We were very happy with their work. It was done in a timely manner, within budget, and of the highest quality. Recently, (Dec. 2017), we asked them to do small repair on a flat rubber roof. They were very prompt in responding, coming to look at what needed it to be done, and getting the job done promptly. Unfortunately, the patch did not hold--patches to rubber roofs are NOT guaranteed, due to issues of surface deterioration caused by age, slime, mold, etc., which can be hard to manage. The repair was costly, about $895; when we noticed that the repair was not stable, we called; unfortunately, they did not get back to us, which was surprising based on our previous experience with this company."
