"My basement ejection pump burned out so I went on home advisor. Within two minutes Mr. Rooter call and Frank showed up an hour later he was very personable and told me he could replace it right away three hours later the job was done and I have my basement bathroom and laundry room up and running the price was well within what I expected and I should mention that this was on a Sunday. I would definitely recommend this company."

"I had a handyman replace my sink and vanity in the bathroom of my home. He was very reliable. He took ownership and returned to fix a leaky faucet. He took care of the issue immediately. Fantastic customer service."

"I spoke with Mike Pepi on the phone, he sounds a little gruff but in person he is very proffesional and explains everything if you are willing to listen. He explained hydro jetting, as a method of removing the waterproof slime that coats the cesspool walls and prevents it from draining. Don't expect a pump truck to arrive at your house, the tools for hydro jetting fit in a truck more suitable for plumbers. My house has an iron cover on the septic tank so Mike removed the cover and cold see the drain was not visible and then he asked me to flush all the toilets while he listened to the plumbing vent on the side of the house, he could tell from the sound that the water was not clearing the drain pipe. He found the cover, which was about three feet deep and pulling off the cover it broke into pieces and from the black color in the cracks he could tell that it had been soaking in the water for some time, looking inside I could see the cesspool was almost at the top. Mike set up a pump with two hoses one extracted water from the pool and the other fit with a long pipe jetted high pressure water back into the cesspool. As he started jetting the walls of the tank the water began draining and dropped way down probably 8 to 10 feet (the pool is three rings deep). Mike then called his partner and he arrived with a new cover and extension collar to bring the cover up another 18 inches or so. <br /> Hydro Jetting was new to me, but if it allows the cesspool to drain then it's fixing the problem rather than simply making space in a clogged system.   <br /> If you don't hear from me again on this assume it's working fine. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"On the morning of Christmas Eve, I discovered that both sump pumps had failed in my basement and there was about an inch of water on the floor. I called my usual plumber and left a message. I was concerned about finding someone given the holidays, so I then I looked up plumbers on Angie's List and found that Right One had good reviews. I called and Dennis answered. He said he would check on availability of staff and called me back in 15 minutes to let me know he had someone who would arrive shortly. They guy was at my house about a half hour later. He was joined by a second plumber who finished up the job for him. Both were nice and very professional. I would recommend them. <br />"

"They successfully repaired a French Drain that had been in use for over 30 years and had recently developed issues. The work exceeded expectations, with a clean process and minimal noise from the jackhammer inside the house. The system now functions as if it were new. Their expertise with older systems was evident."

"The technician called ahead to advise he was on his way as I requested. He arrived on time and was clean and neatly attired. The technician was professional and worked quickly and efficiently. After a short while, he advised that all was in working order. He left the basement in perfect condition and provided me with a paper invoice. I later received a printed emailed paid invoice. We have used AM Shield for about 8 years and their work has always been excellent. We no longer have basement water issues and we highly recommend them."

"The plumber was unable to repair the bulging pipe the same day since he needed to obtain parts.  He was able to return the next day and fixed the pipe within a few hours, accommodating my schedule and rushing in order to get the job done in time for Christmas Eve.  He was polite and I would highly recommend him. <br />"

"E & M came for an estimate and diagnosed the problem promptly. No sales pitch or lengthly discussion, just explained that foundation cracks had to be repaired in the backyard behind the basement, they needed to excavate and fill in the dirt. They charged 1/4 of what the previous company charged to dig trenches and install a sump pump which didn't totally keep the boiler room dry. After living in the house for 20 years the boiler room has stayed dry finally, no need for a handyman to repair anything after their work either! They accepted the Angie's List coupon. Several rainstorms later: fantastic price and great result only wish I had found them sooner."

"when tech showed up the dryer seemed to be working and heating however it did not when I called, seemed the heating element was cracked creating and off and on working condition. I went ahead to repair the problem by purchasing a new heating element. I was surprised however that the tech expected me to pay in full before he ordered the part and repaired the problem, but I did using my credit card knowing if there was a issue the credit card co. would have my back, The part was order and Alex fixed it as soon as it came in and was great"

"Rob and his crew are consummate professionals. About 5 months after I bought my house we had a sewer back up caused by a clogged house trap. This happened late at night so I searched angies list and contacted a highly rated Roto Rooter office to come and check my line. The Roto Rooter employee tried to snake the line for 30 min then told me the sewer line leading from my house to the street was collapsed and I would need to dig it up and replace it, Roto Rooter estimated the cost to be $10K. Shocked by that quote, my wife and I asked a neighbor for a recommendation to get a second opinion. Rob showed up within a couple of hours with a crew of guys, and all the necessary equipment, (snake, camera, etc.) Within 10 min the Draino crew had successfully snaked my line, sent a camera through (which noticed that no section of my pipe was collapsed and was the pipe was in great shape since it had been recently replaced with PVC) and drained all excess water from my crawlspace. 30 min after they showed up, everything was fine with my house and they had cleaned up after themselves. I couldn't be happier with their service, knowledge and expertise. I highly recommend this company to anyone with Sewer or plumbing issues. I haven't used this company for their plumbing expertise but was so impressed with their work, I will use them for any of my needs in the future. <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Montauk, NY

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
