"Tom Wheatley is a skilled carpenter and general contractor. The name of his business is "Pedagogy home and repair", The job involved remodeling a loft condo to enclose the lof and add a second bedroom by extending the second level across the open space. the "Pedagogy" came about because he also was a high-school teacher who taught home building and remodeling. Business was interrupted by COVID and led him to take on several projects in the SLC and Park City area. I found his work to be of the highest quality. I was impressed by his knowledge of the craft and his general management skills. When problems arose, he never shirked his responsibilities, nor made excuses. The overall quality of the job was excellent. I found that he was easy to work with and aimed to please us at every turn."

"Natay responded to my Angie's list request and, after chatting, I set up a meeting. then I saw they advertise for luxury home remodels, which this is not. I reached out and said I didn't think this was the project for them. Why waste both our times? They reassured me that it was still worth their time. $25,000 to replace a tub and a vanity?! I wasn't building a new bathroom! They basically gave me a 'go away' quote. I immediately got two more quotes from other sources. One for $5,800 and the other for $4,100 including fixtures and materials. I get that this job was not something Natay wanted to do, but I gave them an out and they didn't take it and they wasted my time."

"Lux Interior did a fantastic job on two projects we had hired them for so far, and we would hire them in a heartbeat for any additional work we would need in the future! The first project involved building a door frame where there wasn't one before, which requires very precise carpentry, including time-consuming straightening out of any uneven parts of the entryway. The second project was removal of carpet and installation of hardwood flooring and new stairs for our basement. Both projects were done with the highest attention to detail, superb professionalism, and immaculate work. Fedor and his team are a pleasure to work with, we were impressed by his knowledge and his craftsmanship."

"Very, very well. The 2 projects I needed to be done (hanging an 8 foot by 8 foot outdoor shade and hooking up an indoor air conditioner) were done in a timely manner and completed correctly. Bill and his son Garrett were friendly, thorough and on time. I would recommend their company whole-heartedly. I will use them in the future for handyman projects, no doubt about it!"

"I hired him for my bathroom and kitchen remodel. He walked us through the whole project and explained different options we could choose from. He paid attention to every detail throughout the project and the outcome was exactly what we were expecting."

"I was a little nervous about ordering windows on the internet using measurements I'd taken myself, but I loved the design on the website so, initially I only ordered 2 windows to check the quality, my ability to measure accurately and the company's ability to build to my measurements. Jeff, the salesman I dealt with was attentive without being overwhelming and the first order was delivered in about 4 weeks. The windows were exactly what I was looking for and fitting them was a breeze. I followed up with another order for the remaining 13 windows in my porch and again, they arrived quickly, were of great quality, exactly to size and easy to fit. Looking forward to see how they last their first winter."

"Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with the whole process.

One con would have to be the price of the lattices, which is an add on, and that is the price of $300 per lattice. So if you do one side it would cost $600, cause it's 2 per side. So if you did 2 sides it would be $1200. That's way to much money in my opinion. I did go ahead and get just one in the middle, which adds a little more detail to the whole thing."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Park City, UT

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
