"Nate and his team did an excellent job moving sprinklers, adding decorative rock and a cement border around my house. Santiago came back once the secondary water was turned on to adjust the sprinklers and ensure they all worked. Great communication, good price, friendly workers, and I would highly recommend them."

"Do not hire Model for big jobs or any concrete jobs! They’ll drink on the job, mess it up, then keep any excess payments if you fire them. It’s been an absolute nightmare working with these guys. They poured a huge pad of concrete around our pool and completely messed it up. They used permanent chalk to mark their lines, then all the lines were crooked because they waited too long to cut, it cracked immediately, and was already sloughing off in multiple places. The owner Dave accepted blame and told us he’d redo it as many times as needed to get it right. We were hesitant to let them repour it after feedback on a Facebook contractor’s group and from our other contractors on the job who said they dont know what theyre doing, but we (foolishly) trusted Model to make things right, as they swore their concrete guy had never had a pour turn out that bad. So they did tear out and repour, and it’s just as bad as the first time; waited too long to cut, so all lines are crooked, no proper control joints, worked the cream off because they poured on another 100* day with not enough guys, didnt finish the edges right against existing structures, and reused the old, bent drain which is now a safety hazard. When we showed them what happened, they acknowleded it was bad, then responded by telling us they poured almost twice as much concrete as they quoted and wanted more money!! So we fired them, meanwhile our plants and trees had been dying since they planted them on the 1st and still hadnt hooked up the drip line on the 12th. On other contractor’s suggestions, we’ve reported them to DOPL and hired an attorney. Just wanted to prevent anyone else reliving our mistake. They have upwards of $60K of our money in unfinished or unacceptable work that they’re refusing to refund because the owner said it would shutter his business. I know I shouldn’t have given them a second chance but they had a lot of our money in hand and said they hired a better crew. Other issues: they tried to fix our coping that they damaged without telling us, which looked like a 2 year old did it, so they said theyd pay the paver company to fix it. They didnt pay them when they said they would, so we had to pay them for it. They also tore up pool plumbing and tried to fix that without telling us, and our pool guy had to get after them for trying to use the wrong glue. They’ve left rust stains in our pool by throwing whatever they wanted in there. They ran over our irrigation and flooded our neighbor’s yard and we had to shut off our neighborhood’s irrigation for a full day. I’m not joking when I say it’s been a nightmare—because thats not even all of it. Yes, they’re licensed, insured, good reviews for small jobs. This job was just too much for them and they weren’t big enough to say so."
