"Before I called 1st Response Pest Management, I knew two things: there is a hole in my siding and there is a woodpecker that frequents my property (much to my ire). The hole is high enough up that I couldn't see it very well (my eyesight is not great), so I needed an inspection to rule out pests before I have the hole repaired. I called the office and spoke with Bob, a very charming man who took the time to explain several different scenarios that could be happening. He suggested one particular scenario was most likely, scheduled an inspection, and gave me a rough estimate of how much treatment may cost (which was quite reasonable). The next day I met John, his son, who arrived (on time, which I appreciated) for the inspection. He was courteous and patient as he explained that the hole appeared to have been caused by water damage, not a woodpecker. He was very professional as he asked if there were any other areas I needed to have inspected while he was there, but never tried to sell me any unnecessary services or persuade me to sign a contract, etc. He was very professional & friendly, didn't charge for the inspection, then gave me his card and left. Although no work was done, it is frankly one of the best consultations I've had in quite some. If we do require pest control services in the future, we will *absolutely* contact them to do the work."

"Matt and Lou are excellent. Came exactly when they said they would. Very knowledgeable. Quote was reasonable. Evaluated the entire house and made suggestions for a plan. Set some traps and checked them often over a 2-3 week period. Several rodents taken care of in a humane way. Gave quotes on sealing the entry points to house and a plan to deal with issues going forward. Highly recommend."

"Because of my experience with Perfect Peace Pest Control and Mr. Freemen, I am certain to contact Angin for help with future projects. Based on my initial phone contact with the company, I felt comfortable; it was evident from his professionalism that I was already respected as a potential customer. Upon meeting Mr, Freemen my initial impressions were confirmed. He quickly assessed the situation and offered suggestions on ways to get rid of the unwanted home invaders. He came prepared to begin the work. That was great! I have a friend who has for years utilized businnesses associated with Angi and she has always been very satisfied with them. I just wish I had followed her lead. It could have lessened the disappointments and frustrations I hendured. I must also express appreciation for the representative who responded to my call and very quickly identified a number ofcontractors who had the expertise, She offered five suggestions. I chose Perfect Peace. "

FAQs for rodent pest control service projects in Pickerington, OH

Rodent exclusion seals every gap, vent, and crack that rodents use to sneak inside your home. Most homeowners pay an average of $200 to $600 for this add-on. By blocking entry points, you create a long-term barrier that cuts down on repeat infestations and helps protect both your family and your property.

Pros start with an inspection, then place tamper-resistant bait stations and traps in high-traffic spots. They’ll also seal entry points and clean droppings to reduce health risks. Follow-up visits confirm that the plan worked and that no new rodents have moved in. This step-by-step approach removes the current infestation and helps keep your home rodent-free going forward.

A trained pest-control pro can pinpoint hidden access points using a flashlight, thermal imaging, and plenty of crawl-space sleuthing. During an inspection, the specialist maps every gap, vent, or pipe run that rats use, then explains how to seal each one. This detailed report lets you tackle the weak spots immediately and dramatically lowers the odds of another infestation.

Rodent prevention starts with managing food and entry points. Store pantry items in airtight containers, take out trash promptly, and keep pet food sealed. Outside, trim vegetation and stack firewood away from the house. Inside, seal gaps with steel wool or hardware cloth. A tidy yard and a buttoned-up home give rats and mice few reasons—or routes—to move in.

For wall or attic nests, pros place snap traps or CO2-powered units in the exact runways rats use, then return to remove carcasses and reset as needed. Poison is risky indoors because rats may die in hidden spots, creating odors or health issues, so most technicians avoid it. Once trapping is complete, they’ll seal entry points and clean droppings to finish the job.

Plan on several weeks, especially for larger infestations. Your pro will set traps, return every few days to collect rats, and adjust placement until activity stops. Final visits include sealing access points and sanitizing affected areas. Timelines vary, but most homes are rat-free after two to four follow-ups. Prompt scheduling and good sanitation can shorten the process.
