"I came home from work to find our 40-gallon water heater was not working (it was working that morning). The pilot was out and I could not get it re-lit (I do know how to light a pilot) After checking a number of companies on Angie's List, I contacted DB's Plumbing and Drain. Although it was almost 6pm, a very nice person answered the phone and I explained my dilemma. I was told they could send someone that night but would have to charge an after-hours rate. I was reasonably certain what was wrong would not be a simple fix like re-lighting a pilot so scheduled a visit for the following morning between 10 am and 12 noon. Michael D arrived shortly after 10 am. He was very courteous, polite and professional. Before entering my home, he donned a pair of shoe covers which was kept on as long as he was in the house. He diagnosed the problem as being a failed main burner system. As the water heater was 14-years-old, I weighed the cost of replacing just the main burner system on such an old unit against replacing the unit itself. I opted for the water heater replacement. Michael setup the old unit to drain while he went to retrieve the new one from their warehouse which took him about 45 minutes. Upon his return, he removed the old unit and cleaned up the area. He then cut back the existing copper lines to eliminate the numerous soldered couplings from the previous homeowner's repairs. He installed new copper pipes including a new quarter turn shut-off valve. A catch pan was placed and the water heater setup in it. Up reconnecting the gas line, he installed a sediment trap or drip leg (it did not have one previously) which catches sediment sometimes present in natural gas. After bringing the system online, Michael checked the gas line connections for leaks using a detection monitor. The installation was clean and neat and it is obvious Michael is conscientious about his work. Always interested in how things in my home work, Michael was very gracious in answering my questions regarding the installation. I am very happy with the install.and would like to thank Michael for his professionalism and the education."

"I had just purchased a townhome with 4 bathrooms and they are all the original toilets from the year it was built, 1993. Every unit was operating fine to my knowledge except for one that would keep running. Shane came right at 8am and in about 35 minutes went to every toilet, tested it for any possible leaks, and noticed that the water level adjuster was not set right. I mentioned to him that the flush on every toilet seemed very "weak" and that was right away what he looked at and showed me, that the water level was set too low, so the tank was not filling to the proper level to give the right amount of a "flush."
Shane also took the time to show me a very easy fix on the toilet that I was complaining about running, and it was that the chain was getting stuck in the flapper valve, so that was a simple fix. What I respected and appreciated the most from Shane was his professionalism, and his willingness to show and explain to me everything he was doing so I could learn myself. A true professional and he was very honest about how much he takes pride in his work (and it shows!).

I will also say that the rep I spoke to over the phone handling my initial call was extremely nice as well, not your typical secretary that takes a name and number. Was very nice and professional as well.
So for $105 and about 35 minutes of work, I got four toilets tested which all came out OK, and "fixed" for the weak flush issue, and a little bit of plumbing 101!

"It went well. We had a previous company out to work on it 3 years ago. The Master Plumber found the issue to be the original home owners did not do any of the pump replacements to code. Also the pipe underground to the well was under code for the pressures involved. He would warrenty his work but only until the old pump. His request was to change it all. Dig a trench to the house and replace it all with stronger pipe. If he could do it of course the price would be higher but he would warrenty for 20 years. While working he would show us all the evidence of why the upgrade as well as the process. Meanwhile his price was pretty good. He gave a flat price in the beginning and it didn't change or fluctuate throughout the process even though a lot of manual labor was required just to get to the original repair area. Overall i would hire them again. I would say they are trust worthy and knowledgeable about their stuff. He punctual for his appointment times as well. All in all 16 hrs of labor, many feet of pipe, and a few dozen fittings."
