"Saved the Summer. We had a previous contractor fail to meet responsibilities in a timely manner and called on a number of companies to fix the problems. Edson and Clay were the most courteous, prompt, communicative team that we have ever communicated with with the many contractors in and out of our home in the past year. Clay arrived early for our bid/ estimate and he was very informative of both the process and possible remedies for our issues. We needed a team to complete artificial turf, replant arborvitae privacy trees and add a drip line off the existing plumbing, fix a retaining wall, add a drain pipe, remove unsafe landscape timber stairs and replace with paver steps, fix a fence door that was placed too high, and level a side yard. Not only did they complete the job in six working days, they communicated effectively along the way, presented various options for finishes of both the turf and the pavers, and also sourced replacement emerald green arborvitae that the previous landscaper incorrectly planted, which led to their death, and they planted them in a professional manner. They were respectful of our space and were informative every step of the way. Edson's team was very prompt everyday, courteous, and cleaned up the worksite every evening. Clay was always effective in communication, which seems to be the most challenging part of having contact with any contractor. "I called Tad from American Rose Garden last spring to discuss options to bring our lawn back to life as it was not looking the best! Tad arrived on time and was very easy to talk to. He was polite, personable and knowledgeable. He informed us of the pros and cons to option 1) re-seeding the entire lawn and option 2) laying sod. He kindly costed both methods out for us to help in our decision. After some consideration, we decided to have new sod laid and have the instant gratification of a nice lush green lawn. At the same time, we also had Tad and his team clean up the front and back yards, lay down fresh mulch and put in a few new shrubs. Tad’s team were polite and hard-working and they transformed our yard beyond recognition. Tad was rightly concerned with how our new lawn was going to get sufficient and regular watering, particularly with summer around the corner. He recommended getting an automatic timer and advised me about the type of sprinkler to buy and where to place it to ensure that all areas of the lawn would be watered. Tad later came back to install our new timer and help get our watering system set up correctly. Even though this took up most of his morning and involved a trip to the hardware store, he refused payment for this return visit. I was so impressed with this company from start to finish. Tad and his team were wonderful and I would not hesitate to recommend American Rose Garden to anyone looking to rejuvenate their landscaping."

"Rodrigo & team have been providing gardening services for me for a decade now, on a relatively small scale. I'd hired a residential designer to craft a design for a backyard living space, and Rodrigo was my first thought for putting it into action. The team excavated/leveled the space for a flagstone patio and a to-be-installed gazebo. So much care was taken to prep the space, make the ground level, and follow the measurements. They laid the flagstone beautifully. They also built a retaining wall, providing some much-needed planting space. Finally, they laid down new grass, weed-blocker, and wood chips, providing the foundation for me to go crazy at nurseries this summer. I have a few friends who are very experienced with construction, etc., and they all have made special note of how the quality of this work. Note: this was NOT an easy feat from a labor, as 3-4 tons of materials had to be hauled by hand/wheelbarrow from my driveway to the back. I appreciate that they're still talking to me!"

"Update: Carlos contacted me and came out to the property and reseeded the problem areas. He adjusted sprinkler heads again to ensure that the new seed gets sufficient water. He also left the remaining bag of seed for any future needs. I have adjusted my rating of JS Landscape and Excavation as they did stand behind their work. I wanted to be able to give Carlos a good review, as everything started out so great. He was quick to reply, quick to come over and give a bid and started the job on time. He was very communicative...until he was not. We had Carlos and team excavate our existing yard, bring in soil/sand, and hydroseed. A few sprinkler heads were broken in the process, but Carlos and team fixed them and came back out to reposition them. Here is where it goes bad: we were the last hyroseed of the day. Carlos ensured us that this was a good thing because we would get extra seed. Not the case. I think being the last of the day meant that the seed was spotty at best. We have many areas where there is no grass growing, and it has been well over a month since the hyrdroseed. I have contacted Carlos by phone, email and many texts, including photos of the areas. Originally he said he would be back out but the date came and went and there was no communication. Now, I am left with a yard that is not worth the price I paid. Apparently JS Landscape and Excavation does not stand behind their service or product. I have attached photos so you can be the judge. Perhaps if you are having sod put down, use JS Landscaping, but if you are doing hydroseed, buyer beware! The other companies I received bids from guaranteed the hydroseed. I assumed JS did too. I guess I am the fool for assuming. A lot of money for essentially a cr***** result."
