"Ashley did amazing work! We hired her to hang new drywall, repair plaster and paint in our 122 year old home that we renovated. Super professional, always keep us informed and constantly communicated with us through the project. I highly recommend Coastal Finish for all your drywall, plaster and painting! You wonâ t be disappointed."

"Did a great job on my backyard deck. I was surprised at how attention to detail and he Damian really took the time to do an actually masterful job. I was very pleasantly happy with his service, especially as he was very knowledgeable with all my questions throughout the project. I will call him again in the future for any home improvements, definitely."

"Excellent. Rooster Drywall came out the day after we called. After assessing the job, gave a quote before they left. Scheduled the job that week and they finished the demolition and replaced the drywall and missed the first day and came back the second day and sanded and painted and cleaned up. Bathroom looks great. They were very professional and would hire them without question."

Small jobs welcome

"This couple is fabulous. They have done several projects for me including, staining decks, building well cover and reconstruction on my well house including, metal roof, gutter, secured the foundation and insulated well and pipes against the cold. Also much work finishing my basement for my sons use. I would hire them for anything and everything I could. Joan Longcore"

FAQs for small projects painting or staining projects in Shelby, MI

You'll need about two gallons of paint to fully cover your kitchen cabinets with two coats. Since each gallon covers around 350 square feet, it's a good idea to measure your cabinets or use a paint calculator to determine exactly how much you'll need. Starting with one or two coats of primer and then applying two to three layers of paint will give you a flawless, durable finish. Using high-quality paint can reduce the number of coats needed and provide a long-lasting finish.

The best type of paint for your kitchen cabinets is latex paint because it applies evenly and creates a durable finish. If you're painting wood surfaces and need extra adhesion, acrylic paint is a great alternative. We don't recommend oil-based paint for residential use due to its VOC emissions. For finishes, go with eggshell, semi-gloss, gloss, or satin, as matte finishes aren't as durable or as easy to clean.

The best method for painting kitchen cabinets is spray painting because it gives you a smooth, even finish without brush strokes. While brushes and rollers can work, they often leave marks and require more effort. If you're aiming for a professional look, spray painting is your best bet to enhance the beauty and durability of your cabinets.
