Small jobs welcome

"Joe Normile did the work, popwer washing and sealing a 40-foot by 10-foot high double fence. Some minor trouble with scheduling but job was done very well. Would re-hire."

"Garringer Painting recently stained my fence, and they did an outstanding job. The crew was prompt, professional, and paid close attention to detail. The stain was applied beautifully and really brought new life to the fence. They took great care with the prep and cleanup, and the whole process was smooth from start to finish. 10 out of 10 — highly recommend! I’ll definitely be using them again for future projects."

"Both occasions were for the same work. Areas of the house and garden were covered with tarps to prevent overspray staining the house or foliage. Company workmen used water to pressure wash the deck, cleaning off algae stain. After deck dried (over a period of a day or so), workmen returned and stained deck with aerial sprayers, spraying stain over the whole deck. <br /> The quality of work was different in both cases. <br /> First occasion on 6/5/08, the deck turn out beautiful, the complete stain completely covering the wood, so it looked new. I give it an "A" grade. <br /> Second occasion on 5/3/13, after staining, the coverage was spotty and intermittent looking, with variations in stain coverage. It looked as if the workmen didn't have enough stain to cover the deck. I give it a "C-" grade. <br /> I took pictures and uploaded them to my computer, with the intent of contacting the Deck Rescue owner (Bill Hydock), and emailing the photos. Unfortunately, my hard drive crashed, and I lost the photos. I never did contact the owner. <br /> From my personal contact with Mr. Hydock, I believe he would have tried to correct the incomplete stain coverage. <br />"

"I contacted  Deck Rescue the end June 2013 because of its A rating by users of Angie's List.  Rod responded promptly, came to my house to inspect the pergola, then wrote an estimate stating the work to be done and the cost (the cost stated in this review also included power washing and sealing a concrete sidewalk leading to my house).  He explained in detail how he would cover the surrounding landscaping and patio furniture to protect them from the cleaner and stain, how he applied the stain and what to expect from it.  Rod told me he was booked until mid July and I told him to add my pergola to his schedule.  Because of the rainy weather we experienced in July, Deck Rescue ran behind schedule and couldn't get to my job until the first week of August.  However, Rod kept in constant contact with me telling me where my job was on his schedule due to the weather delays.  It was definitely worth the wait.  My pergola looks like new!  Rod was always professional, courteous, prompt and a good, hard worker.  I will definitely call Deck Rescue again and highly recommend it to everyone. <br />"

"We have used MOG for many years. They have provided numerous landscaping projects as well as ongoing monthly maintenance. They are incredibly knowledgeable about all things that grow outdoors as well as projects to help you have a place to enjoy what is growing around you. They are consummate professionals, always listening to your ideas without arrogance or condescension. I can't even remember how I first found them. We had used several different landscaping companies over the years but none was as stellar as MOG. All I said applies to their employees as well. The Best!"

"Excellent work. We have metal spindles on the neck that would make the work a little more difficult. The spindles look the same. The deck looks fantastic. Nice to see water beading up on it again."

"We contacted ACI Inc. to perform a roof inspection.  Their project Manager, Jeff Stone, responded quickly and professionally and determined that we had extensive wind damage.  Working in conjunction with our home owner insurance agent, they agreed that total shingle replacement was warranted. <br /> The shingles and necessary additional items were ordered on or about May 29,2015, material delivered on June 1, 2015, and the entire job completed on June 2, 2015. <br /> They removed all old roofing materials, and hauled them away.  Installed new felt, shingles, and Ice & Water shield, along with ridge vents and vent stack boots, etc.  <br /> Roofing crew arrived around 7:00AM and completed the entire job around 7:00PM.  Very courteous and hard working crew.  After completing the roof, they thoroughly cleaned up all materials, including several additional checks around the house to make certain no nails or excess material was left behind. <br /> Project Manager, Jeff Stone, inspected the job, and pointed out to me the various work that was accomplished. <br /> I highly recommend ACI Inc. and will recommend them to friends and neighbors!             <br />"

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Springfield, OH

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
