"After reading many very good reviews I chose A Screen Repair to do the minor work for my screen enclosure (2 door locks and 2 screen panels). I called another business as well, but they took a much longer time to respond, although their estimate was cheaper. Neither business answered the phone when I called during business hours. I had to leave a message. A Screen Repair was the first to call me back. The techs showed up at the appointed time ready to start the job. However, I wanted the type of locks that used keys and they didn't bring any of that type. They said I hadn't specified that type, which was true. But if you offer more than one type of lock and I say I want a lock, wouldn't it be logical to ask, "What type do you want?" I wasn't aware that there were door locks that didn't use keys. I can't imagine that I'm the first customer that ever asked for a lock and didn't specify they wanted the type that used a key. Anyway, they didn't want to do the other part of the job (replace the screens) right then since they would have to bill for a separate trip charge when they came out again to install the locks I asked for. That seemed a bit odd. They were already there. My job had been scheduled. It wouldn't cost them any more time or effort to do part of the job right then. But they wouldn't. So I had to make another appointment and wait a week before they could come back. They set a two-hour window in the afternoon of the next appointment day. Three hours before that two hour window began I got a knock on the door. They said their customer had missed their morning appointment so could they start my job now? Since I happened to be home I said yes. But it annoyed me that they hadn't even called me first to let me know they wanted to come over three hours early. I guess if I hadn't been home, or ready, they would have come back at the scheduled time. It didn't hurt to come early, but it's not a good idea to surprise your customer when you do it. Once they started the job things went pretty smoothly. Christa was very polite and told me what they were going to do and asked for my input before they started the job. They did a good job. So overall I felt they did the job well. However, in the future I hope they will start asking customers what type of lock they want when one is requested. Also, if their schedule changes please don't just show up at the door unannounced. Call first. The next time I need a screen repair I will probably try another company first. A Screen Repair didn't do a bad job, but they could have communicated much better."

"We had the screening replaced in our patio. We had regular screening put on the roof and special pet screening put on all the vertical sections because our dog, Sabre and our cats, Picasso and Ninja go out there. We were not only impressed with the work and the speed at which the work was done, but how Thomas walked on the high screening molding like he was walking on the ground. Great job Thomas!"

"It has taken me a while to write this review but I needed time to digest all that went thru. We contracted this company initially to complete a massive renovation of our landscape which included all the areas mentioned. The pavers work was done beautiful and we are very happy with the end result. At his advice, we added a transformer for lights to add some dimension to a retaining wall behind the fire pit in the brick patio. About 3 weeks after the job was completed, we discovered the cable from the transformer to the retaining wall was completely exposed. They never buried it and was just covered with mulch. Obviously, after a good rain, the cable showed. So thankful, it was not destroyed while cutting the lawn. Otherwise, it was money in the trash. After multiple calls, someone came and fixed the problem. For the flower bed areas, the work required to remove river rock stones, and at Andy's advice, it was replaced with sod and mulch. During the process, the brought sod - don't know from where - but it introduced crab grass everywhere in my garden beds - impossible to control. Within 2 weeks after job was done, I called and he send someone to spray weed killer. That really didn't solve the problem obviously. Upon asking why the industrial grade plastic was not installed, he felt his expertize was attacked and I decided never to contact him again. Upon leaving the job, the work was not complete (areas needed St. Augustine grass because they ran out of it, same for the mulch). Now over a year later, we have to bring another landscaper to fix all our flower bed. None of my neighbors, even the one next to our home has the crab grass issue we have. About 25% of the plants recommended and planted by this company died (they were too young), the ornamental grass grew out of control (not the best plants to plant under palm trees.) So are now, a year later, we are hiring another contractor to fix all the plant bed areas this crew did (Over $4K more) My advice, if the work that you want to be done is pavers patios, he is the Go-To person. If for landscaping, do more research before hiring him to do the job. For some plants we were charged over $40 for a 1 gallon to them finding the same plant as a reputable nursery for a fraction of it ($10)."

"They rescreened out entire lanai screens. Some we torn due to wind over 18 years and a few had "scraps" across them with small tears. The guys, led by Austin Winterstein, arrived on time, got right to work and had all of the old removed and new installed within a couple of hours. The work was superior, the workers were well mannered and all worked hard to do a super job. Would recommend them to anyone needing small or large screen work to be done!"

"We initially asked for an estimate via email after we received high estimates from other providers in the area. May had the lowest price and was still able to provide the options we were interested in having. We also had someone come out to give us an estimate just to make sure there wasn't anything that would change the price. <br /> We have an existing concrete pad that is 20 ft x 13 ft so we just wanted a screen enclosure with a roof. We selected  some upgrade options including a gable roof style and tuff-screen that increased the price. However, all other offers for the same project were about 6,000-6,500 from other vendors.  <br /> We signed the contract early in the week. By that Friday they had the permit and the work was started and completed on the Tuesday. So start to finish was about one week. The day the construction occurred they were at our house from about 7:30am to 5pm.  <br /> The patio looks amazing and we were so excited that it was completed so quickly. <br /> I would highly recommend May Construction for projects like this. The price was good, the quality is great, and the turnaround time is amazing. <br /> <br />"
