He came right away the next day and gave us a temp fix so we had water for the night while he retrieved the part we needed. "Proudfoot is great. I've had them come both for an emergency (the water heater started leaking) and a scheduled appointment (the furnace wasn't working very well). They get you in quickly in either case. Hugh, especially, is great. He's extremely knowledgeable, and he takes the time to go over exactly what's wrong, and how it can be fixed. He showed me precisely what was a problem in the furnace, and what it would cost to replace the parts, and how much longer the furnace would last. He gave replacement as an option, but didn't push it. I decided to replace, because I'd prefer not to worry about it, and he had a book of options for different furnaces (same with the water heater), so i could see the expensive and less expensive options, and what the differences were. Hugh takes care of all the business and diagnostic work, and he has some very good younger guys come in and do the installation work while he goes and tends to other appointments. He always comes back to conference if there are any questions or problems, and at the end when everything is done. That's really important and helpful because it's easiest to work with one person. The guys he has do the work are great, but with just one person in charge of talking to you, you don't have to worry about making sure to repeat yourself, or that all your questions and concerns are being communicated. In short, Proudfoot is an excellent company, Hugh Williams is a delight to work with, and I will always use them for any future plumbing needs. I have no idea if they're cheap or expensive compared to other companies, because I have always been so satisfied with their work that I wouldn't go elsewhere. For me, I feel like I'm getting a great value, and that's what is most important."
