"The rep came out as promised, and gave us a quote on the spot- about $1000. He filled in the three woodpecker holes, and removed my messy attempts to eradicate the bird. He then added several "toys" to keep the bird away- an owl face with metallic streamers, and four little bicycle reflectors to confuse it. Finally, he set up a speaker that broadcasts timed recordings of bird distress calls and predator bird calls. He came back a week later and painted the repairs, using paint we gave him. Final report- we have not seen the woodpecker since. Nice job!"

"This is the worst service I have ever had in my life. The contract that I signed says Hawx pest control company covers 200 insects. They were running a promo for $49 promo for the 1st visit and $50 per month for 11 months (approximately $600). After the first visit, he told me that he didn't cover a German roaches and I would have to pay an extra $800 on top of what I had already agreed to pay--even though roaches were included in the original contract. His name is Chris and he is a manager for Hawx pest control. He wouldn't compromise or help at all. He just said he would refund my money and walked out. "

"Here?s a strong but still professional review you can post: **1-Star Review** We had a terrible experience with Greenix and would not recommend them. We hired Greenix to help get rid of mice at a duplex we own. When we signed up, we were told they would come out every other week and that the issue should be resolved within about a month. Instead, it took around **four months** to finally get the problem under control. A major issue was the lack of reliability. Many times, they were **no-call, no-shows**, which was extremely frustrating, especially when dealing with a pest issue at a rental property. On top of that, the billing felt very misleading. We were put on a monthly charge, but then they would also charge extra when they actually came out to the property. When we called to cancel, we were told there would be a **$350 cancellation fee**, which was not clearly explained to us when we started the service. It felt very sly and misleading. They eventually offered to reduce the "

FAQs for rodent pest control service projects in West Chicago, IL

Rodent exclusion seals every gap, vent, and crack that rodents use to sneak inside your home. Most homeowners pay an average of $200 to $600 for this add-on. By blocking entry points, you create a long-term barrier that cuts down on repeat infestations and helps protect both your family and your property.

Pros start with an inspection, then place tamper-resistant bait stations and traps in high-traffic spots. They’ll also seal entry points and clean droppings to reduce health risks. Follow-up visits confirm that the plan worked and that no new rodents have moved in. This step-by-step approach removes the current infestation and helps keep your home rodent-free going forward.

A trained pest-control pro can pinpoint hidden access points using a flashlight, thermal imaging, and plenty of crawl-space sleuthing. During an inspection, the specialist maps every gap, vent, or pipe run that rats use, then explains how to seal each one. This detailed report lets you tackle the weak spots immediately and dramatically lowers the odds of another infestation.

Rodent prevention starts with managing food and entry points. Store pantry items in airtight containers, take out trash promptly, and keep pet food sealed. Outside, trim vegetation and stack firewood away from the house. Inside, seal gaps with steel wool or hardware cloth. A tidy yard and a buttoned-up home give rats and mice few reasons—or routes—to move in.

For wall or attic nests, pros place snap traps or CO2-powered units in the exact runways rats use, then return to remove carcasses and reset as needed. Poison is risky indoors because rats may die in hidden spots, creating odors or health issues, so most technicians avoid it. Once trapping is complete, they’ll seal entry points and clean droppings to finish the job.

Plan on several weeks, especially for larger infestations. Your pro will set traps, return every few days to collect rats, and adjust placement until activity stops. Final visits include sealing access points and sanitizing affected areas. Timelines vary, but most homes are rat-free after two to four follow-ups. Prompt scheduling and good sanitation can shorten the process.
