He never tried to upsell us, or sell additional work — I had to ask him to look at our deteriorated front steps after work started on the dormer, and was happy that he could fit that project in for us, too. "We have used S&J Painting and Remodeling many times over the past 5 years, most recently (spring 2025) for handyman services. S&J provide services for a full day, so we typically accumulate a few projects. Our most recent project included replacing two faucets, fixing a very loose banister, repairing a hole in the drywall, as well as a few basic jobs, hanging pictures and installing bathroom fixtures. I expected to paint after the drywall and banister were repaired, but they took care of it for me. When replacing one of the faucets they found the supply lines were old and rusty. They went to Home Depot, purchased new supply lines and installed them at no extra cost. While there they picked up some brackets to secure some other loose pipes they happened to see while in the utility room. We really appreciate the extra attention to detail and doing more than we even realized needed done. We are already accumulating new projects. Scheduling and workday communication is excellent."

"Everything from the bidding process, through completion, was handled with the utmost care and professionalism. Dimitri and every person who he brought into our home treated it as anyone would want their own to be treated. This was not a small project. They vaulted the ceiling in the living area, completely removing the roof on half the house, and did a full new roof. Matched the existing red oak hardwood flooring, and sanded/re-stained the entire upstairs. All the plumbing and electrical in the entire house was replace. New kitchen, 3.5 new bathrooms, finished basement, combined two bedrooms to make a master suite. New HVAC. New generator…. You name it, and it was done. When all was said and done, I think our two hall bedrooms were the one walls that weren’t torn down. We could not possibly recommend Dimitri and his company (his two sons work with him as well) any higher. They are honest, and hard working. Old school in all the best ways."

I reached out to him desperately on a Sunday, after the first person I hired did not come with the proper equipment to paint the interior of my home. Melvin came out to do the job THE SAME DAY. I gave him more to do when I realized he had a broader skill set. He wrapped up the entire project: painting, lighting, cabinetry AND custom shelves in two days.
