The process was fabulous! Within a week of our first contact, they had someone out to assess the site so they could draft an accurate quote. The quote came back more than $4,000 less than a competitive bid we had received. They worked with us to create a corner fireplace with stone from floor to ceiling, and even used their expertise to advise us how to best mount a new T.V. above the fireplace. Carter Custom Construction was a one-stop-shop for us aside from needing the cable company to come out. Their workers were great and cleaned up to the point that I wouldn't have even known they were there. They were also resourceful... when mounting the T.V. they ran into a snag, halted what they were doing to call in a foreman, and the result was great!

We would definitely recommend Carter Custom Construction for a fireplace installation, and any other construction-type jobs around the house. We Plan to keep their contact information readily available.

"Overall, I really enjoyed working with Great Lakes. I had the same two guys come out and install my bathroom (Hassan and Mike). The remodel took 3 days. They were professional and courteous; on time and cleaned up the area every night. Hassan kept me in the loop for changes and asked for my opinions when it came to placing certain pieces in the shower. My only complaint would be in communication between Great Lakes home office. After my consultation, I was told I would receive samples of the vanity color and countertop (for painting) which didn't happen & the person I was to contact had left the company so my emails were not getting through and I had to contact the office and explain my issue. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this company to my family and friends."

They had a great presentation showing how I could take my project one step farther and do what they called cabinet renovation. The crew that came to do the work were very friendly and professional. "Colin built and stained a custom designed 10x12 pergola as part of our backyard landscaping. The pergola has trim on the bottom and top, and custom lattice on one and a half sides.  We wanted the pergola to run part of the way along the house side to cover the water meter but still give access to the meter if needed by the meter reader, and Colin ingeniously determined that the side could be hinged and have hidden latches, allowing it to swing open if needed.
He was open to our ideas for the design, and added suggested options for how to proceed. He checked in with us as the work proceeded to double check the spacing of the top pieces of wood, the height of the top, the stain color, etc, which was really helpful to achieving the end result we had envisioned. 
He was punctual, polite, friendly, cleaned up each day, and his workmanship is excellent.
