"Last April I purchased a brand new condominium. There was quite a bit of construction dust as well as some construction debris in the air ducts once the building was completed. I finally decided to hire Dustbusters Duct Cleaning this month to clean them out. The dryer vent was also cleaned and the central AC coil was inspected. Jeremy was the technician who performed the job. He was punctual, polite and courteous, and very knowledgeable. Jeremy explained the entire process to me and showed me before and after pictures of the air ducts. I have noticed that the air flow from my heating system seems stronger now which indicates to me that cleaning the air ducts has improved the efficiency of my heating system. "The guys were on time, cheerful, thorough, and and got the job done. They were thoughtful about my cat, too. The 'sanitization' stuff they sprayed did smell for a few days, despite my airing out the house with the windows open, but it did eventually go away. And they must have gotten a lot of dust out because my children (who are usually very sneezy with the dust pumping through our house) have seemed much better since the ducts got cleaned. Very happy with the service. I used an Angie's List "deal" for the service--I was in a hurry to get it done (my kids had dropped some art supplies down a vent that were making clicking noised that were driving me nuts) so I didn't compare prices at all, I just looked for a company that seemed thorough and they they were. And the clicking sounds of rogue art supplies is gone. Yay!"

"Encon is a great company! I had an ant problem and needed an exterminator right away. Based on good reviews, I called Encon in a panic and Debbie fit me in right away. Ryan came out to the house and talked with my husband. He explained the problem and sprayed around the foundation and inside where the ants seemed to be coming from. That night we had more ants then ever! I called in the morning and spoke to Debbie and told her what happened. She talked me off the ledge and explained how the nest was disturbed and that was normal. I was also happy with the cost. They were very reasonable. I will always call Encon for my pest control needs!"

"I could not be more pleased with this company or this service. I found them here on AL and with a rebate, it was a great deal. When I called, the woman who answered was extremely polite and helpful and took the time to go over the entire audit process with me (she wasn't rushed as some receptionists are). They sent an email to confirm the date and time.
When the team arrived, they were on time and each of them introduced themselves by name to me before coming into my house. They were all very polite and courteous. The leader (I can't remember his name) gave me an overview of the process and explained things as they went. Basically, they simulate high winds around the house and then monitor for where leaks are. My house is relatively new and has no basement, so it was already pretty efficient, but there were some major leaks by the front door and attic door, which they sealed on the spot. They also showed me that I could hold my hand over any electrical socket, even ones on interior walls, and feel the "wind"--which means air was leaking out those! So I plugged them all with those little socket protectors. The guys also took me into the attic and showed me some leaks, and fixed them--and fixed the attic door by adding a little latch to help it stay closed. All in all, they reduced the amount of air getting into my house by 500 (I forget the units). It was clear they didn't just make up this number--they showed me the number after the first test and then after the second test (when they had treated the problem areas).
I also got a few free CFLs and LEDs, and bought 3 more LEDs since they were at a great price. They left some rebates with me, although all my appliances are new so I didn't need anything. 
When they left, they each said goodbye and were very professional until the end. They were respectful in my home and asked before opening any closets or doors, etc. I felt very safe with them here, which is not always the case when people are in your home working. I think the price is a fantastic one, especially with the AL rebate that was on when I scheduled. I feel I got my money's worth. My husband and I had tried to plug some leaks ourselves, but we didn't really know what we were doing and we had no way to measure if we were really helping anything. This audit gave me hard numbers to look at and I was impressed that they did the fixes on-site (included in the price--for instance, they plugged a whole around my front door frame by installing a clear plastic barrier). It was a great deal and a great experience. Highly recommend!
Bonus--when we resell this house in a few years, I will definitely list that we got a professional energy audit performed on it and that it's very efficient. Definitely a selling point!

"We had many issues with our computer - primarily with the CD/DVD drive and iTunes. Jim eliminated over 700 viruses from our computer, which was just the beginning. There continued to be problems within the systems of the computer. Luckily Jim charges by the job and not by the hour because he worked a LONG time to make it all work.  He kept in touch with me and addressed each issue as it arose until the job was done.  He was professional and courteous and hung in there until I was satisfied he had addressed everything. I would highly recommend Jim and will definitely use his services in the future, as needed.

"Sears may have a good product, but I was very uncomfortable with the guy they sent out to give a "quote". It isn't a quote, it's a sales pitch and it ate up over 2 hours of our time! The salesman was very nice and seemed like a good guy, but he was overselling sears and putting down ind. contractors and it put me off. Aside form that, their quote was 2/3 higher than anywhere else. $23,000 for central air just wasn't worth it for us."

"I was experiencing problems with my boiler after a small fix I thought I could do myself left the home without heat or hot water. I called 3 other places that were not able to come out same day, then called PETRO and person on phone sold me a service contract (which I thought weird at first, but in retrospect was actually very nice) they said they could come within the next 2-4 hours, 7 hours later they arrived (I didn't mind the delay because I really wanted the job fixed and done right) and the repair person was courteous, pleasant and answered my questions. 
He repaired a broken pressure valve that had accidentally been tinkered with and flushed the air out of the line and viola the boiler was working again.
