"I would highly recommend Prime Home HVAC. Our air conditioner was out for an entire weekend. I called Nathan on Monday, by Tuesday we had relief!! Nathan and his staff were professional and paid attention to detail. The price was fair and they made it easy. I love that they are a family-owned business. You will not be disappointed."

"My hot water heater stopped working. The problem ended up being a leak underneath the mobile home. I had a different company come in to give an estimate. The other company, who I will not even bother revealing the name of, gave an estimate that was almost $2000 to replace pipes that they could see, or $8736 to repipe my place. I really just wanted the leak fixed. I called Sheaffer's Mechanical afterwards. They came out very quickly. They were very nice guys who clearly knew what they were doing. They fixed the leak very quickly for $125. Do yourself a favor and contact these guys for any plumbing needs. They are awesome! They also do heating and air conditioning."

"I had a contractor grade furnace that lasted only 11 years and had a leak. My regular jobber gave me a bid but it was very high. I got Aire Serve thru Home Advisors and their bid was almost $4,000 less and the air conditioner was higher SEER, higher tonnage, the furnace had 20k more BTU's and the warranties were much better. They came out in a few days and did the whole installation of both units in 6 hours. WE are pleased!"

"Will Stahl from Stahl Mechanical called me the same day that I submitted my request for a pro. He came to my home for an estimate a few days later. He was knowledgeable about AC and electric, educating my husband and I regarding the different systems available, cost and efficiency. He and his 2 guys arrived the following week on time and finished the job in less time than estimated. Will was skillful, clean, respectful and friendly. He was genuinely concerned with the quality of his work and assisted us in setting the smart thermostat and returned upon request at no extra charge to adjust the vents to balance the air flow in all the upstairs bedrooms. I would highly recommend him to others and have given his card out to friends and family already."

"Tash has done a great job! When I bought my house A/C unit stopped working. I searched for a local heating and air conditioner team. He was available same day, came out to check my unit and gave me reasonable quote for entire high efficiency furnace and A/C unit. I can say that he is well educated and knew what he was doing. Unit was ordered and installed with no issue. I highly recommend ATD Tech for Heating and air conditioning needs."

"They installed a soft starter on my air conditioner that allows the AC compressor to start when running on solar power only."
Most professional HVAC technicians require two to three hours to complete an expansion valve replacement. The timeframe depends on your unit's accessibility and whether additional repairs are needed. The process involves recovering refrigerant, removing the old valve, installing the new component, and recharging the system. Scheduling during less busy seasons may result in more convenient appointment times.
Operating your air conditioner with a malfunctioning expansion valve isn't advisable. Continuing to run the system could potentially damage other components, particularly your compressor, which is significantly more expensive to replace. If you notice performance issues like inconsistent cooling or unusual noises, it's best to have your system inspected before continuing regular use.
Expansion valves don't have a standard replacement schedule, as their longevity depends on system usage, maintenance frequency, and environmental factors. Regular professional maintenance helps identify potential valve issues before they cause system failure. Having your HVAC system serviced annually allows technicians to monitor component condition and recommend preventative replacements when necessary.
Refrigerant leaks require prompt professional attention. If your expansion valve is leaking, you'll likely notice reduced cooling performance and possibly hear hissing sounds near the unit. Addressing leaks quickly prevents further system inefficiency and avoids the environmental impact of released refrigerant. Your HVAC technician will need to repair the leak and recharge the system with the proper refrigerant type and amount.
Because many AC issues present similar symptoms, professional diagnosis is recommended. Problems like inadequate cooling, inconsistent temperatures, or strange noises could indicate expansion valve issues, but might also stem from refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, or airflow restrictions. A qualified HVAC technician has the tools and expertise to accurately identify the root cause and recommend appropriate repairs.
