"I did a quote on Angie needing help with my newly installed HVAC system in my recently purchased home. Kevin was the first person to call me, I explained what was going on he asked a series of questions and eventually referred me to the installer of the system. Informing me there should be a minimum one year installers warranty, to figure out whom installed it and to get them back out as to not void my manufacture warranty by allowing someone else work on the system. I received and used information from my broker and the same day 4/24/26 called the original installer and they are coming today 4/28/26 to fix this brand new system. The Peoples Champ Heating & Air, will be my go to experts once this courtesy one year warranty is up for sure. Thanks Kevin. For being a honest decent person, caring more about your craft and building relationships then making a Buck."

"We called "Good to Go" for an estimate to replace our old and reported to be failed air conditioning system. Mr. Kaurin visited us and inspected the unit He reported that the air compressor's low voltage source was disconnected and that the capacitor was bad. He replaced and repaired the unit and had it operating within 1/2 hour of his visit. We will have "Good to Go" replace both our furnace and A/C system when either system becomes un-repairable. We have his quote for a Rudd system and will be ordering from this honest professional, Matt Kaurin. George J Randolph, Roscoe Road, Newnan, GA"

"CAELUM Heating and A/C did an excellent job installing a replacement electric furnace in our attic to connect to an existing heat pump two floors below. He FOUND that the copper cooling line was ORIGINALLY installed at a 3/4” connection but downsized to 1/2” and caused a huge strain on the system. So he handled replacement of the pipe through the full height of the house to ensure the 3/4” connection was attached to 3/4” pipe. He also shared detailed hvac flow engineering with me to explain what the units should be vented like (size and location) based on the unit(s) installed. Paul is very detailed oriented and he loves his job. -S"

Pillar is a locally owned HVAC company providing reliable residential and commercial heating and air conditioning services across South Atlanta. We specialize in system repairs, full replacements, preventative maintenance, and emergency service for homes and businesses.\n\nOur team delivers disciplined, professional workmanship on every project. We focus on accurate diagnostics, clear communication, and long-term solutions that support efficiency, reliability, and performance.
Most professional HVAC technicians require two to three hours to complete an expansion valve replacement. The timeframe depends on your unit's accessibility and whether additional repairs are needed. The process involves recovering refrigerant, removing the old valve, installing the new component, and recharging the system. Scheduling during less busy seasons may result in more convenient appointment times.
Operating your air conditioner with a malfunctioning expansion valve isn't advisable. Continuing to run the system could potentially damage other components, particularly your compressor, which is significantly more expensive to replace. If you notice performance issues like inconsistent cooling or unusual noises, it's best to have your system inspected before continuing regular use.
Expansion valves don't have a standard replacement schedule, as their longevity depends on system usage, maintenance frequency, and environmental factors. Regular professional maintenance helps identify potential valve issues before they cause system failure. Having your HVAC system serviced annually allows technicians to monitor component condition and recommend preventative replacements when necessary.
Refrigerant leaks require prompt professional attention. If your expansion valve is leaking, you'll likely notice reduced cooling performance and possibly hear hissing sounds near the unit. Addressing leaks quickly prevents further system inefficiency and avoids the environmental impact of released refrigerant. Your HVAC technician will need to repair the leak and recharge the system with the proper refrigerant type and amount.
Because many AC issues present similar symptoms, professional diagnosis is recommended. Problems like inadequate cooling, inconsistent temperatures, or strange noises could indicate expansion valve issues, but might also stem from refrigerant leaks, electrical problems, or airflow restrictions. A qualified HVAC technician has the tools and expertise to accurately identify the root cause and recommend appropriate repairs.
