"Gary Kimberlin's team did a great job for us with a series of small projects which were too big for a handyman, but apparently too small for most contractors. Most of the general contractors we contacted through Angie's List never never got back to us, but Gary treated us as valued customers from the start. Gary himself contacted us to provide a bid, and his responsiveness was exceptional. He spent about an hour with us taking measurements and discussing what we wanted to accomplish. Maybe we could have found a cheaper bid out there somewhere, but we were pleased with the punctuality and quality of the work, so I don't regret a cent that we spent. We had a series of small tasks which Gary's team performed over a couple of days. They arrived and departed when they said they would. First, they installed roll insulation in the crawl space under our living room. Rather than stapling the insulation in place, they recommended a slightly more expensive hanging system which allows the insulation to be removed and then put back without damaging it. Since additional remodeling is always a possibility, we appreciated the foresight on this issue. Second, we had planned to install a skylight in the living room, but Gary suggested can lighting instead, and I'm glad he did. Any time you punch a hole in the roof, it could leak, no matter how well you seal the edges. Can lighting was less expensive and created no possibility of leaks. We weren't happy with the first set of can lights Gary's team installed. Without complaint, Gary's team uninstalled them and replaced them with lights that we could swivel to highlight our artwork on the wall. We appreciated the team's flexibility and good attitude about the change. Third, the most complex portion of the job was repairing a wall and floor that had been damaged with pet urine. Gary's team removed the damaged baseboard, cut away the damaged carpet and pad, repainted the wall, and installed a new baseboard. This left a hole in the carpet which we covered with a throw rug, which was the solution of our choice. The repairs to the wall are seamless -- you'd never know the work had been done. Gary didn't press us to replace the whole carpet, which we weren't ready to do because our beloved older pet was still with us. The solution worked -- the smell is gone, and we didn't spend more than we wanted to. We'll complete that remodel another day. Last but not least, Gary's team did a thorough job cleaning and repairing the gutters. Small sections of guttering had come loose, which they refastened to the roofline. The one part of the remodel that didn't go as I had hoped pertained to a roofing issue. We had a gap in the soffit panels under the eaves. We had been concerned that a squirrel could climb through the hole and nest under the roof. Gary's team assessed the roofline and said that the hole in the soffit didn't communicate through to the attic, as far as they could tell, so the squirrels couldn't use it as a gateway. Unfortunately, that conclusion turned out to be incorrect. Six months later, we had to pay a wildlife control company to get squirrels out of our attic. The animal control team determined that the entry point was the hole in the soffit and installed a sheet metal cover for it. While the squirrel removal and roof repair were expensive, I don't fault Gary's team for mis-diagnosing the issue. Two other contractors/handymen had previously looked at the same problem and reached the same conclusion as Gary did, so obviously it was tricky. (We had had squirrels under the roof in a previous home, so I was concerned about this issue.) We look forward to work with Gary Kimberlin Construction again on a future remodel."

"I cannot praise the engineer enough. Salesmen from many foundation repair companies quoted us about $10,000 in pier installation, whereas after taking measurements for settling and analyzing cracks found we don't need ANY piers. Also, our polyjacking estimates were all thrown out as a result of the visit, because the garage floor was fine!!! Just needed to use some concrete sealant and could do that ourselves. In short, we saved about $15,000 on work that wasn't even needed. Save yourself the headache, and call this company. Very thorough, practical and will show you with measurements how your foundation is really doing. Don't rely on foundation repair salesmen to tell you!!!"

Because of supply-chain issues, what had been marked as a 9-week project stretched to 24 weeks; but they worked with us every step of the way, advising us if we should substitute materials or if waiting would be a better option. When our original floor tiles were held up indefinitely we were able to make changes on the fly because of the original scouting trip we’d made with Renna - no need to spend another day looking at samples!"

"The surveyor that came out, worked here for three days to get everything located . Apparently verifiable points to get started with weâ re almost nonexistent. I was starting to get concerned that I would end up being charged a whole lot more than the original price, but the surveyor told me that sometimes it does takes several days to get everything located, and that his bosses understand that had a very good experience with them and definitely recommend them. ."

"I had some bids from people that perform this work on the side.  Metro
came in at about $100 more than the side job folks and they provided
me with a warranty as well.  I normally winterize my own system but now I
just make an appointment with Metro and the guys just take care of it. 
All in all, its the better way to go.  I would say they have a
reputation as being the BMW of installers.  Very professional in
everything they do.  It doesn't matter who you talk too, everyone is
exceptional.  It's like hitting the easy button.
