I had no idea what all this entailed, but he did. He came and measured, gave me options, and offered guidance. The results are beyond what I hoped for. He and his crew removed our old deck and replaced with Trex. I was concerned about certain areas of the deck where heavy pot plants sit so he double reinforced those areas with wood before installing the Trex so I wouldn't have any bowing of those areas.
